upGrad is looking to add nearly 3,000 people in the next three months and is close to securing a fresh funding. According to estimates, the company reached a $1 billion valuation in a funding round last year.
According to Ronnie Screwvala, the corporation will hire between 6,500 and 7,000 people by August of this year. It currently has a workforce of 4,000 employees. The company is also considering a new round of funding, which he described as “work in progress” and expected to be completed “very shortly.”
The remarks occurred at a time when a number of education technology businesses were forced to lay off employees due to business challenges and a lack of funding in what has been dubbed the “funding crunch.”
