Within the first quarter of 2023, Delhi-based Physics Wallah—which became a unicorn last year—plans to hire 2,500 people in various verticals.
The announcement comes as several Indian startups and technology companies are cutting off staff in an effort to cut operational costs and turn a profit. Over 60,000 people lost their jobs in January alone, surpassing the layoffs from December, according to multiple media reports.
Faculty members and professionals are being hired by PW for positions such as business analysts, data analysts, counsellors, operations managers, batch managers, teachers, etc. The company claimed to be actively hiring through large-scale recruitment drives.
More than 6,500 people work for Alakh Pandey’s Physics Wallah at the moment, including 2,000 educators and teachers.
The edtech unicorn asserts to be on a growth rampage after expanding into a number of competitive exams, including state boards, GATE, CDS, NDA, UPSC, CTET, SSC, CDS, railways, banking, CA, commerce, MBA, and more, in addition to JEE and NEET preparation. In order to advance careers and develop tech skills, it has also introduced post-graduate programmes and PW Skills.
