Agri-Biotech Startup GreenGrahi Secures ₹32 Crore to Scale Insect Biomanufacturing Platform and Expand Globally

Agri-biotech startup GreenGrahi has secured ₹32 crore ($3.73 million) in a funding round led by Avaana Capital, with participation from Huddle, Campus Fund, Blume Founders Fund, and angel investors including Nexus Venture’s Nitin Sharma and Northpoint Capital’s Sameer Brij Verma.

Funding to Fuel Innovation and Expansion

The fresh capital will be used to scale GreenGrahi’s insect biomanufacturing platform, a core part of its biotech innovation. The startup also aims to strengthen its team by hiring new talent across science, engineering, and operations, while accelerating its global go-to-market strategy.

Circular Economy Approach to Agri-Biotech

Founded in 2021 by Siddharth Sharma and Shivali Sugand, GreenGrahi is pioneering a circular economy approach to agri-biotech. The company transforms agricultural by-products, sourced from FMCG companies and agri-input suppliers, into high-value insect-based products. These include proteins and supplements designed for animal feed and plant nutrition.

Product Portfolio: Biofertilisers, Biostimulants & Biopesticides

Beyond insect ingredients, GreenGrahi develops a suite of eco-friendly agri-inputs:

  • Biofertilisers to enhance soil fertility

  • Biostimulants to promote plant growth

  • Biopesticides to protect crops naturally

These products support sustainable farming practices, making GreenGrahi a key player in the climate-resilient agriculture movement.

Expanding Global Footprint

Currently operating a B2B model, GreenGrahi serves over 10 clients across the animal and plant nutrition sectors. With international expansion in sight, the startup is targeting the US, UK, and EU markets, which are projected to contribute 30–35% of its future revenue.

Previous Funding and Market Momentum

In July 2023, GreenGrahi raised undisclosed pre-seed funding from Campus Fund, marking the beginning of its venture-backed journey. The recent funding round validates its progress and positions it for rapid growth amid a global shift toward sustainable and regenerative agriculture.
