Snack Brand phab Raises $2 Million Seed Round to Fuel National Expansion

Mumbai-based health snacking startup phab has successfully raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by OTP Ventures. The round also saw participation from Capri Global, Sim&San law firm, and a group of strategic angel investors. The fresh capital will be deployed towards scaling operations, team expansion, capex investments, and enhancing the brand’s online and offline footprint across India.

Founded in 2022 by Gayatri and Ankit Chona, phab positions itself as a nutritionist-led brand offering protein-rich, flavor-forward snacks that blend indulgence with science-backed nutrition. The company aims to redefine snacking in India by offering healthy yet delicious alternatives that support active and health-conscious lifestyles.

Innovative Product Line Focused on Protein-Rich Nutrition

phab’s product portfolio includes high-protein milkshakes, protein powders, and energy bars—crafted to provide convenient and tasty protein options. These products are designed by a collaborative team of nutritionists, scientists, and chefs to ensure both taste and nutritional value.

The brand claims to have already sold over two million units—including protein bars, “bombs,” and milkshake bottles—across various channels. This traction underscores the rising demand for functional snacks that support India’s growing interest in wellness and fitness.

Strategic Growth and Nationwide Expansion

The funding will support phab’s multi-channel expansion strategy encompassing digital platforms, quick commerce, general trade, and modern retail. With plans to broaden its reach nationwide, phab also intends to launch new product categories, build out its team, and invest in production capabilities to meet rising consumer demand.

Social Impact and Addressing India’s Protein Gap

In addition to its commercial goals, phab is committed to addressing India’s widespread protein deficiency. The brand partners with schools and organizations that serve marginalized communities to provide nutritional support to those who lack access to adequate protein.
