Volt14 Secures $1.87 Million to Advance Silicon-Anode Battery Technology

Bengaluru-based battery tech startup Volt14 has raised $1.87 million in its pre-Series A funding round, led by Blume Ventures. The round also saw participation from Beyond Next Ventures, Spectrum Impact, Supermorpheus, and existing investor Cocoon Capital.

This latest round brings Volt14’s total funding to $4.02 million, which will be used to scale up manufacturing capabilities and expand the company’s technical and operations team.

Volt14: Pioneering Silicon-Anode Innovation for Lithium-Ion Batteries

Founded in 2019 by Animesh Kumar Jha, Volt14 is at the forefront of battery innovation with its focus on silicon-based anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. The startup has successfully developed a proprietary cylindrical battery cell format that leverages its high-energy-density silicon anode.

Volt14’s core innovation lies in increasing silicon content in battery anodes without compromising performance or stability. The technology is currently undergoing evaluation by multiple global battery cell manufacturers, highlighting its potential for commercial adoption in electric vehicles (EVs) and stationary energy storage systems.

A Rapidly Expanding Market Opportunity

The global lithium-ion battery market is on track to surpass $300 billion by 2034, driven by accelerating demand for EVs, renewable energy storage, and grid-scale solutions. Volt14 aims to be a key player in this high-growth sector by offering advanced battery materials that enable higher energy density, improved cycle life, and cost-efficiency.
