SaaS Startup for Laundry Industry Turns Raises $500K Pre-Seed Round

Turns, a vertical SaaS firm for the laundry sector, has secured $500K in pre-seed funding from Better Capital, PointOne Capital, and a group of outstanding angel investors. With a full stack software & hardware integrated solution that includes a contemporary POS, customer management, easy payments, accounting, employee management, logistics optimization, and compliance, Turns assists launderettes in providing a modern experience to their customers. This makes it an all-in-one control centre for laundromat owners.

The US, India, the UAE, and other countries have already signed up more than 50 launderettes and dry cleaners for Turns’ pilot programme. In the next 12 to 18 months, Turns plans to target 1,000 customers particularly in the American market.

Laundromats contain intricate processes involving both physical labour and machines, a variety of self-service business models, vending sales, wash, dry, and fold, pickup and delivery orders, routes, and more. Owners of launderettes are in greater need of a system that can scale with their business and simply connect into current systems. The opportunity Turns is focused on is that traditional solutions have fallen short of meeting the contemporary needs of this multi-billion dollar business.

The company’s founders, Sukanth Srivastav and Vishal Gupta, launched a laundry startup in India in 2015 and are knowledgeable about the workings of the industry. Sukanth and Vishal considered how big the industry and its issues were even though that startup failed. Based on such insights, they focused on creating the “Toast for Laundromats” and began developing Turns in 2022.

Laundromats & cleaners represent one of the largest main street businesses in the United States that was severely underserved by modern software. We see an immense vertical SaaS opportunity and already understand the laundry business intimately”, said Sukanth who leads all things business at Turns.

Laundry is a large business but a complex & competitive one. Laundromats need state-of-the-art software to deliver the experience that is being demanded by B2C as well as B2B customers. We are building Turns to do just that – an all-in-one system that laundromat owners can operate easily and scale their business with a stellar customer experience”, said Vishal who leads all things product & engineering at Turns.
