Azumuta Secures €8 Million Series A to Accelerate AI-Driven Shop Floor Digitalization

As manufacturers worldwide continue to depend on paper, spreadsheets, and outdated systems to manage critical shop floor processes, Belgian software scale-up Azumuta is transforming the future of factory operations. The operator-centric platform has raised €8 million in Series A funding to advance its AI-powered solution for digital work instructions, quality control, and workforce training.

The funding round was led by Keen Venture Partners, with participation from Capricorn Partners and returning investors PMV, Angelwise, and Dirk Vermunicht. The fresh capital will support team expansion, product innovation, and global market growth as the company continues its mission to streamline manufacturing operations and enhance workforce empowerment.

“Every week we meet manufacturers still running critical processes on paper,” said Batist Leman, CEO of Azumuta. “There’s no lack of ambition, just a need for technology built for real production. Azumuta bridges that gap and helps factories digitalize in a way that fits how they operate.”

Reinventing Shop Floor Knowledge and Operations

Founded in 2016, Azumuta began as a digital work instruction tool and has evolved into an integrated platform trusted by nearly 100 manufacturers worldwide. By bringing together work instructions, training, audits, and quality control in a single system, Azumuta serves as a centralized knowledge hub for factory operations.

Manufacturers using Azumuta report up to:

  • 50% reduction in administrative time

  • 60% fewer quality complaints

Global brands, including Atlas Copco, Toyota, and Sioux Technologies, rely on Azumuta to maintain connected, efficient production lines.

“Operational efficiency is one of our key priorities,” said Johan Dom, VP Engineering at Atlas Copco. “As we work toward becoming a factory of the future, digital transformation is essential. That’s where Azumuta plays a crucial role.”

AI-Driven Software Designed for Operators

Unlike traditional manufacturing software built for executives, Azumuta focuses on creating AI-rich, operator-friendly solutions. This people-first approach is a major factor behind the platform’s adoption and retention.

“Most manufacturing software is built for the C-suite, not the people on the floor,” said Robert Verwaayen, General Partner at Keen Venture Partners. “Azumuta starts where the real work happens, building AI-rich software operators actually want to use. That’s why it sticks.”

Recognized as one of Belgium’s fastest-growing tech companies, Azumuta is now poised for its next stage of expansion, focusing heavily on product innovation, industry partnerships, and global customer success.
