Good Farmer Food Concepts Raises $1.5 Million in Pre-Series A Round

Bengaluru, January 13, 2026Good Farmer Food Concepts, the Bengaluru-based company behind Maverick & Farmer Coffee and Square Burgers & Co., has raised $1.5 million (approximately ₹12.5 crore) in an ongoing pre-Series A funding round led by CreedCap, with participation from Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna, former Indian cricket team captain Rahul Dravid, and Meraki Sport & Entertainment.

The fresh capital will be deployed towards expanding its café footprint across India, investing in research and production infrastructure, and strengthening the company’s retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) vertical, the company said in a statement.

Blending Craftsmanship With Growth

Founded in 2024 by Ashish D’abreo, Sreeram Gangadharan, and Tej Thammaiah, Good Farmer Food Concepts is building a portfolio of scalable Indian food and beverage brands rooted in craftsmanship, sustainability, and innovation.

Its flagship brands — Maverick & Farmer Coffee and Square Burgers & Co. — combine creativity with authenticity, representing a modern, health-forward, and community-driven approach to dining and coffee culture in India.

“Our mission is to build Indian food and beverage brands that reflect global quality while staying rooted in authenticity,” said Ashish D’abreo, Co-founder of Good Farmer Food Concepts. “This funding will help us expand our café presence, enhance our R&D capabilities, and strengthen our retail operations to bring artisanal experiences to a wider audience.”

Maverick & Farmer Coffee: From Farm to Cup

Maverick & Farmer Coffee, one of India’s leading farm-to-cup specialty coffee brands, exemplifies the company’s commitment to traceability, experimentation, and craftsmanship.

The brand conducts coffee innovation and fermentation experiments at its 140-acre estate in Pollibetta, Coorg, where it grows, processes, and experiments with new flavors and roast profiles. This estate serves as the brand’s “coffee lab,” giving it end-to-end control over quality and sustainability.

With cafés in Bengaluru (4) and Goa (2) and an expanding B2B presence, Maverick & Farmer supplies premium coffee to leading establishments such as Second Cup Coffee, Magnolia Bakery, Courtyard Marriott, Cowrks India, Lavonne, and Boston Consulting Group.

The brand also retails directly to consumers via its website and premium partner stores, offering a curated range of specialty roasts, brewing equipment, and home barista kits designed to nurture India’s growing home-brewing community.

Square Burgers & Co.: India’s Modern Fast-Food Alternative

Square Burgers & Co., the company’s second brand, is reimagining fast food with a health-first, high-quality approach. The brand focuses on fresh, locally sourced ingredients, balanced recipes, and transparency in preparation — catering to consumers who seek both indulgence and nutrition.

By marrying culinary craftsmanship with scalability, Square Burgers & Co. aims to carve a niche in India’s evolving quick-service restaurant (QSR) landscape.

National Expansion and Innovation Ahead

The funds from the current round will be used to launch new Maverick & Farmer Coffee outlets in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Goa, and Bengaluru, with the company targeting 10 operational outlets by the end of 2026.

Good Farmer Food Concepts also plans to enhance its R&D and production infrastructure, enabling it to introduce new SKUs in coffee retail and expand its consumer product portfolio across modern trade and online channels.

The company’s integrated model — spanning farming, product innovation, retail, and hospitality — allows it to maintain control over quality while scaling responsibly.

“We see ourselves as brand builders for India’s evolving food and beverage ecosystem,” added Sreeram Gangadharan, Co-founder of Good Farmer Food Concepts. “Our focus is on long-term value creation through transparency, authenticity, and customer connection.”

Backed by Sports Icons and Strategic Investors

The funding round features prominent investors from sports and entertainment, including Rohan Bopanna and Rahul Dravid, who bring not just capital but also brand-building credibility and a strong connection to Indian consumers.

“We’re thrilled to have investors who believe in our vision of building homegrown brands that can compete on a global stage,” said Tej Thammaiah, Co-founder of Good Farmer Food Concepts.

Investor interest reflects India’s growing appetite for premium artisanal coffee, gourmet dining experiences, and authentic homegrown F&B brands.
