BENGALURU, India — Dr. Doodley, a pet healthcare startup offering both in-home veterinary services and 24/7 multispecialty hospitals, has raised $3.3 million (approximately ₹30 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round.
The round comprises ₹20 crore in equity and ₹10 crore in debt, with the equity portion led by V3 Ventures.
Investors Backing the Round
Other participants in the funding round include Campus Fund and Thackersey Family Office, along with prominent angel investors such as Yatin Shah, Karan Bhagat, and Gautam Dalmia.
Expansion Plans and Use of Funds
Dr. Doodley plans to use the fresh capital to expand hospital capacity, strengthen clinical operations, and prepare for entry into other Tier I cities. The company is focused on building a scalable, high-quality pet healthcare infrastructure as demand for organised veterinary services rises across urban India.
Founded in 2023 by Utsav Bisaria and Yash Jayprakash Ladda, the startup operates a hybrid care model that combines vet-at-home services with round-the-clock multispecialty pet hospitals.
Growing Hospital Footprint in Bengaluru
Currently, Dr. Doodley operates three 24/7 pet hospitals in Bengaluru, located in Jayanagar, Yelahanka, and Whitefield, and works with a team of around 35 veterinarians.
Over the next 12 months, the company plans to expand to seven hospitals by opening four new facilities in Bellandur, Indiranagar, Rajajinagar, and North Bengaluru. During this period, Dr. Doodley aims to treat more than 1,00,000 pets and grow its veterinary workforce to over 100 doctors.
New Services and Pricing Innovations
As part of its growth roadmap, Dr. Doodley plans to launch 30-minute vet-at-home services, aimed at improving access and response times for pet owners. The startup also intends to introduce a flat ₹10,000 pricing model for surgeries, covering procedures across categories—an effort to bring greater transparency and affordability to pet healthcare.
The company claims to have treated over 30,000 pets and performed more than 1,000 surgeries in the past year, indicating strong early traction and growing demand for professional veterinary care.
Riding the Pet Care Boom in India
India’s pet care market has been expanding rapidly, driven by rising pet adoption, increasing disposable incomes, and greater awareness of animal health and wellness. With its integrated care model and focus on accessibility, Dr. Doodley is positioning itself as a full-stack pet healthcare provider in a largely fragmented market.
With fresh capital in hand, the startup is now gearing up for its next phase of growth as it scales operations within Bengaluru and prepares for broader national expansion.
