Sarvam Kaze: India’s Indigenous AI Smart Glasses
Sarvam’s upcoming smart eyewear, branded Sarvam Kaze, is being designed and developed in India. According to the company, the device will offer a developer-friendly ecosystem, enabling application builders to create AI-powered experiences directly on the hardware.
Unlike many existing smart glasses in the global market, Sarvam’s model is expected to prioritize openness for developers, allowing broader customization and innovation across use cases.
Kumar emphasized the importance of building technological sovereignty across all layers, including devices that act as the “experience layer” for AI models.
AI for Feature Phones Through HMD Partnership
In a major move to expand AI accessibility, Sarvam also announced a partnership with HMD, the technology company known for mobile devices, to bring artificial intelligence capabilities to feature phones.
The collaboration aims to make AI tools accessible beyond smartphones, expanding digital inclusion and ensuring that AI adoption is not limited to premium devices.
Collaboration with Qualcomm for Generative AI
Sarvam has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies to develop and deploy generative AI solutions tailored for Indian languages and local use cases.
The collaboration combines Sarvam’s AI models with Qualcomm’s hardware and software platforms across multiple segments, including:

Wearables
-
Extended Reality (XR)

This partnership is expected to accelerate AI deployment across consumer electronics and enterprise infrastructure in India.
AI Integration in Automotive Sector with Bosch
Further expanding its hardware footprint, Sarvam has also entered into a partnership with German technology firm Bosch to integrate AI capabilities into automotive dashboards and car panels.
This move signals the company’s ambition to embed sovereign AI models across mobility and connected vehicle platforms.
Strengthening India’s Sovereign AI Vision
Sarvam’s announcements reflect a broader push toward sovereign AI development in India, focusing on building AI models, devices, and infrastructure locally.
With smart glasses, AI-enabled feature phones, generative AI collaborations, and automotive integrations, Sarvam is positioning itself as a key player in India’s emerging AI hardware and software ecosystem.
As India accelerates investments in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, initiatives like Sarvam Kaze highlight the country’s ambition to move from AI adoption to AI ownership.
