Agritech Startup Verdant Impact Raises $3 Mn Seed Funding

Indian agritech startup Verdant Impact has secured $3 million in seed funding in a round led by Unicorn India Ventures, marking a significant step in its mission to modernize livestock management through artificial intelligence and digital technologies. The funding round also saw participation from Infynyte Club, Yash Kotak, Alok Soni, and a-IDEA NAARM, an agribusiness incubation initiative supported by the National Academy of Agricultural Research Management.

The fresh capital will enable the company to expand its team, strengthen its technology infrastructure, and accelerate market expansion across North and North-East India. Verdant Impact also plans to invest heavily in research and development, while enhancing the capabilities of its flagship Pashu.AI platform.

Strengthening AI Technology for Livestock Farming

India has one of the largest livestock populations in the world, yet the sector still faces significant challenges related to animal health monitoring, breeding efficiency, and farm productivity. Verdant Impact aims to address these issues by combining artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and blockchain technology to create data-driven solutions for dairy farmers.

Founded by Manish Kumar, the startup focuses on building AI-powered platforms that help farmers manage livestock more efficiently while improving productivity and sustainability.

One of the company’s core offerings is Pashu.AI, a digital platform designed to support livestock health monitoring, genetic tracking, and farm management. The platform allows farmers to track the health and productivity of their animals while accessing insights that can improve breeding decisions and farm performance.

Verdant Impact is also developing blockchain-based integrations to strengthen transparency and traceability in livestock data. This technology will help farmers maintain reliable records of animal genetics, health data, and farm activities, creating a more trustworthy ecosystem for dairy and livestock supply chains.

Smart Devices for Real-Time Herd Monitoring

Alongside its software platform, Verdant Impact has developed Bharat Pashudhan, an IoT-enabled device designed for real-time herd monitoring. The device collects data related to livestock behavior, health indicators, and productivity, allowing farmers to detect potential health issues early.

This combination of hardware and AI-driven analytics helps farmers make informed decisions about animal care, breeding, and nutrition.

By integrating IoT sensors with digital platforms, the company aims to create a comprehensive livestock management ecosystem that supports farmers at every stage of the dairy production cycle.

Rapid Growth and Expanding Farmer Network

Verdant Impact says it has already reached more than 6 lakh farmers across India, reflecting growing interest in digital solutions for livestock farming. The company has also reported eightfold revenue growth since its previous funding round in March 2025, highlighting strong demand for its technology solutions.

With the new funding, the startup plans to deepen its presence in emerging dairy markets across North and North-East India, regions where livestock farming plays a vital role in rural livelihoods.

Expanding into these markets will also help the company bring digital tools to small and medium dairy farmers, who often lack access to advanced farm management technologies.

Ambitious Revenue Target for FY26

Verdant Impact has set an ambitious financial goal for the coming year. The startup aims to achieve ₹100 crore in revenue by FY26, while maintaining profitability as it scales its operations.

This focus on sustainable growth sets the company apart from many early-stage startups that prioritize rapid expansion over financial discipline.

The company believes that by combining AI-driven insights, IoT monitoring tools, and data-backed livestock management, it can deliver real value to farmers while building a scalable agritech business.

Tackling Climate Impact in Dairy Farming

In addition to improving farm productivity, Verdant Impact is also working on initiatives aimed at addressing environmental challenges in the dairy sector.

One such initiative is the India Methane Mission, a program focused on reducing methane emissions from dairy farming. Methane produced by livestock is a significant contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, and the initiative aims to help farmers adopt practices that lower their environmental footprint.

Through data-driven monitoring and improved livestock management techniques, the program seeks to reduce emissions while also opening opportunities for farmers to participate in carbon credit markets.

If successful, such initiatives could allow dairy farmers to generate additional income by contributing to climate mitigation efforts.

The Growing Opportunity in Agritech

The agritech sector in India has seen increased investor interest in recent years as startups develop innovative solutions to modernize agriculture and livestock management.

With a combination of AI-powered analytics, IoT-enabled devices, and blockchain-based transparency, Verdant Impact is positioning itself at the intersection of agriculture technology and climate innovation.

As digital adoption increases across rural India, solutions like Pashu.AI could play a key role in transforming livestock farming into a more efficient, profitable, and environmentally sustainable sector.

With fresh funding and a rapidly growing user base, Verdant Impact is now preparing for the next phase of its growth journey—one that could redefine how livestock farming is managed in the digital age.
