Cybersecurity firm Rubrik (NYSE: RBRK) has announced the acquisition of Predibase, a San Francisco-based AI company specializing in turning open-source models into production-ready AI solutions. While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the acquisition marks a strategic move by Rubrik to deepen its capabilities in Generative AI (GenAI) infrastructure and security.
Founded by Devvret Rishi, Predibase provides a powerful platform that enables enterprises to customize open-source models efficiently through its proprietary post-training stack and high-performance inference engine. Its LoRA eXchange, an open-source system, allows the deployment of personalized models at scale, supporting a variety of enterprise use cases and departmental needs.
The acquisition is expected to enhance Rubrik’s GenAI application deployments, particularly those built on platforms like Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, and Google Agentspace. By integrating Predibase’s model optimization and customization stack, Rubrik aims to provide end-to-end security and scalability for enterprise AI initiatives.
Rubrik, led by CEO Bipul Sinha, serves more than 6,000 organizations worldwide by protecting sensitive data across sectors such as healthcare, finance, education, and government. Its offerings are designed to safeguard data from cyber threats including ransomware, breaches, and system outages.
This move further reinforces Rubrik’s vision to secure the future of AI-enabled enterprises while delivering actionable, real-time protection against evolving cyber risks.
