In his new role, Bajpai will oversee business operations and lead market expansion initiatives across India.
“India is a fast-growing and important market in our overall global growth strategy, and Alok’s appointment ensures we will continue to deliver world-class infrastructure with agility and speed,” said Doug Adams, CEO and President of NTT Global Data Centers. “His strategic leadership will guide our next phase of development in the region and support our commitment to sustainable innovation worldwide.”
A Vision for India’s Digital Future
Speaking on his appointment, Bajpai highlighted India’s evolving digital landscape:
“India’s data center market is at a pivotal moment, driven by rising demand for scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure to power the nation’s digital evolution,” said Alok Bajpai. “My goal is to strengthen NTT’s leadership as the market grows, and help build a future-ready ecosystem that addresses enterprises’ needs while contributing to India’s broader economic and technological progress.”
A Proven Track Record in Leadership

Accelerating Sustainable Data Center Growth in India
Under Bajpai’s leadership, NTT Global Data Centers is rapidly expanding its data center footprint across key Indian metros to meet surging demand for enterprise-grade and AI-ready infrastructure. As India emerges as one of the world’s fastest-growing digital economies, the opportunity to scale high-performance computing (HPC) and support AI workloads is critical.
NTT is also pioneering advanced infrastructure solutions in India, such as next-generation cooling technologies optimized for AI applications. At its Navi Mumbai facility, the company deployed liquid immersion cooling (LIC) and direct contact liquid cooling (DLC), enhancing energy efficiency by nearly 30%. The hybrid-cooled facility now operates at an impressive Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.27, demonstrating the company’s commitment to sustainable, energy-efficient operations.
NTT’s data centers in Mumbai and Bengaluru already operate on more than 100 MW of renewable energy, reinforcing the company’s dedication to reliable and sustainable infrastructure for enterprises and hyperscalers.
Backed by Global Investment for Continued Growth
As the world’s third-largest data center provider, NTT Global Data Centers has allocated over $10 billion in capital development to drive future expansion, both in India and new markets worldwide. This investment underscores NTT’s commitment to delivering best-in-class data center services with an emphasis on reliability, performance, and sustainability.
