Ambulance Tech Startup Dial4242 Raises ₹9 Crore in Pre-Series A Round Led by IAN Group

Dial4242, a healthtech startup revolutionizing ambulance services in India, has raised ₹9 crore (~$1.04 million) in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Indian Angel Network (IAN Group). The round also saw participation from BioAngels, NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore, and other prominent angel investors.

This latest funding round follows Dial4242’s ₹1 crore seed round raised in September 2023, which was led by investors G Vamshi Raju, Starfish Ventures, and a network of Hyderabad-based angel backers.

Fund Utilization: Faster Response and Broader Reach

The company plans to deploy the newly raised capital to:

  • Reduce ambulance turnaround time from 12 minutes to under 8 minutes

  • Expand its network of medical centers in underserved and remote regions

  • Upgrade technology infrastructure for real-time emergency tracking and dispatch

  • Accelerate leadership hiring to support rapid operational scale

These improvements aim to significantly enhance the speed and quality of emergency medical response across urban and rural India.

A Tech-Driven Emergency Response Network

Founded in 2016 by Jeetendra Lalwani, Nilesh Mahambre, and Atin Verma, Dial4242 operates a tech-enabled, asset-light ambulance platform with a presence in over 850 Indian cities. The company offers:

  • Real-time ambulance tracking

  • Automated dispatch systems

  • 24/7 coordination and support

The startup has built a robust B2B network by partnering with organizations like Amazon, Zomato, and Swiggy, extending emergency care services to gig workers and delivery professionals.

Upcoming Plans and Market Strategy

Dial4242 is also preparing to launch a low-cost membership program that offers free ambulance access, making emergency transport more accessible to the masses. Additionally, it is focusing on deepening hospital partnerships, increasing coverage, and improving overall emergency healthcare standards across India.

Competitive Landscape

Dial4242 operates in a rapidly growing sector alongside other ambulance-tech players such as:

  • MeduLance

  • HelpNow

  • ESahai

  • AmbiPalm

  • Mo Ambulance

Each of these companies aims to streamline ambulance access in a country where emergency response times remain a major healthcare challenge.

By leveraging its tech-first model and expanding its national footprint, Dial4242 is positioning itself as a key player in India’s emergency healthcare infrastructure.
