Spintly Raises $8 Million in Series A funding

Goa-headquartered IoT and security technology startup Spintly has raised $8 million in a Series A funding round led by Accel, marking a significant milestone in its growth journey. The round also saw participation from Enrission India Capital, SucSEED Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and Chakra Growth Fund.

The fresh capital will help Spintly accelerate its expansion across India, the Middle East and Africa (MEA), and the United States, while strengthening its AI-powered building technology offerings.

Funding Allocation: Growth, AI Innovation, and Infrastructure

Spintly plans to allocate approximately 60% of the funding toward sales, business development, and marketing initiatives across its key markets. This reflects the company’s ambition to scale its footprint in enterprise access control and smart building systems.

Around 20% of the capital will be invested in research and development, with a focus on advancing AI-driven building management features and enhancing product capabilities. The remaining 20% will support operational expansion and infrastructure development, enabling the company to sustain rapid growth.

Reinventing Access Control with Wireless Mesh Architecture

Founded by Rohin Parkar and Malcolm D’Souza, Spintly develops wireless, cloud-based access control and smart building solutions tailored for enterprise environments.

At the core of its technology is a proprietary wireless mesh architecture designed to simplify large-scale deployment of access control systems. Unlike traditional wired systems that require extensive cabling and hardware installations, Spintly’s model leverages Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) mesh networking combined with cloud infrastructure.

The company currently holds seven patents related to its wireless access control technology, highlighting its innovation-driven approach.

Keyless Entry and Smart Building Capabilities

Spintly’s platform enables enterprises to manage physical security through smartphones, offering features such as:

  • Keyless entry using mobile credentials

  • Attendance tracking

  • Visitor management systems

  • Centralized cloud-based access control

By digitizing physical security infrastructure, the company aims to eliminate reliance on traditional key cards and wired systems, making deployment more scalable and cost-efficient.

Addressing Legacy Constraints in Physical Security

According to Rohin Parkar, Founder and CEO of Spintly, the funding reinforces the company’s belief that wireless mesh architecture represents a transformative shift in physical security and smart building management.

Traditional access control systems typically scale in proportion to building infrastructure, meaning additional doors require more wiring, hardware, and installation complexity. This model can create friction, especially for enterprises operating across multiple distributed locations.

Spintly’s architecture decouples access infrastructure from construction cycles, allowing businesses to deploy or modify security systems without extensive physical retrofitting.

Investor Perspective on Smart Access Control Market

Barath Shankar Subramanian, Partner at Accel, noted that legacy access control systems were designed for static environments where expansion meant additional hardware and complexity. However, as enterprises operate in increasingly digital and distributed ecosystems, traditional models are becoming less efficient.

Spintly’s wireless-first approach addresses these challenges by offering scalable, cloud-based solutions that align with modern enterprise needs.

Expanding Across India, MEA, and the US

Spintly currently operates across India, the Middle East and Africa (MEA), and the United States, serving enterprises seeking flexible and technology-forward building security systems.

The global smart building and IoT security market has witnessed steady growth, driven by increasing adoption of cloud infrastructure, digital transformation initiatives, and enterprise security requirements. With rising demand for contactless access and integrated building systems, companies like Spintly are positioned to capitalize on industry shifts.

AI-Driven Smart Building Systems

As part of its R&D roadmap, Spintly plans to enhance its AI-driven building systems, integrating intelligent analytics and automation into access control workflows.

AI capabilities in smart buildings can improve operational efficiency by analyzing usage patterns, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing security monitoring. This move aligns with broader trends in IoT and enterprise automation, where data-driven decision-making is becoming central to infrastructure management.

Strengthening India’s IoT and Security Tech Ecosystem

The Series A funding round signals strong investor confidence in India’s growing IoT and security technology ecosystem. With backing from a global venture capital firm like Accel, Spintly joins a list of emerging startups redefining physical security through digital innovation.

As enterprises modernize infrastructure and embrace wireless, cloud-native systems, demand for scalable access control solutions is expected to grow steadily.

Looking Ahead

With $8 million in fresh capital, Spintly aims to scale its global presence, deepen its AI innovation, and strengthen operational capabilities. By focusing on wireless mesh networking and cloud-first access systems, the company is positioning itself as a next-generation leader in smart building and enterprise security technology.
