TCS Partners with Anthropic to Bring Claude AI to Regulated Industries Across Financial Services, Healthcare and Public Sector

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of the world’s largest IT services and consulting firms, has announced a strategic partnership with Anthropic to accelerate the adoption of enterprise artificial intelligence across highly regulated industries.

As part of the collaboration, TCS will deploy Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude to more than 50,000 employees across 56 countries, while also developing industry-specific AI solutions for clients operating in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, life sciences, aviation, telecommunications, public services, and medical technology.

The partnership also sees TCS joining the Claude Partner Network, Anthropic’s global ecosystem of consulting and services organizations focused on helping enterprises implement and scale Claude-powered solutions.

Focus on Regulated Industries

The partnership is designed to address a growing need among regulated industries for AI systems that deliver high levels of accuracy, transparency, compliance, and auditability.

Organizations operating in sectors such as banking, insurance, healthcare, and government face strict regulatory requirements and increasingly require AI solutions that can be deployed responsibly while maintaining operational integrity.

By combining Anthropic’s AI capabilities with TCS’s deep domain expertise and enterprise transformation experience, the companies aim to help organizations move AI projects from experimentation to large-scale production environments.

TCS to Become “Customer Zero”

TCS will first deploy Claude internally across key business functions, including:

  • Engineering
  • Finance
  • Legal
  • Marketing
  • Sales

The company plans to use insights gained from these deployments to develop best practices and scalable frameworks for enterprise customers.

TCS is also creating a dedicated AI practice comprising consultants, engineers, and industry specialists who will design, implement, and manage Claude-powered solutions for clients worldwide.

Industry-Specific AI Solutions

The partnership will focus on building tailored AI applications designed for specific industry use cases.

Initial areas of focus include:

Banking and Financial Services

AI-powered lending advisory solutions, software development acceleration, and IT operations optimization.

Insurance

Automated claims processing and claims adjudication solutions designed to improve efficiency and customer experience.

Healthcare and Life Sciences

AI-enabled workflows that support operational efficiency while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Public Services

Enterprise AI systems aimed at improving service delivery and operational effectiveness.

Telecommunications and Aviation

Intelligent automation and decision-support systems designed for large-scale enterprise environments.

Key Projects Already Underway

Several initiatives have already been launched under the partnership.

Diligenta to Enhance Customer Experience

Diligenta, TCS’s UK-based life and pensions business, plans to leverage Claude to improve services for more than 22 million policyholders.

Productivity Gains for Banking Teams

TCS’s banking and financial services product teams will utilize Claude Code to improve productivity across software engineering and IT operations.

Expanding the Claude Code Ecosystem

TCS engineering teams are developing reusable skills and plugins for the Claude Code ecosystem, with initial solutions focused on:

  • Claims adjudication
  • Lending advisory
  • Enterprise workflow automation

AI Training at Scale

TCS iON, which conducts more than 75 million assessments annually across 1,500 Indian cities, will introduce Claude training and certification programs aimed at developing enterprise AI skills.

Leadership Perspectives

Commenting on the partnership, K. Krithivasan, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of TCS, said:

“Enterprise AI value comes from understanding business context, orchestrating complex systems, and applying deep AI engineering talent. By combining Claude with our industry expertise, engineering rigor, and large-scale transformation capabilities, we will help customers move faster to production—especially in industries where trust, resilience, and regulatory discipline are critical. This partnership reflects TCS’s broader strategy to help clients become perpetually adaptive enterprises by turning frontier AI into transformation at enterprise scale.”

Anthropic Co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei highlighted the strategic importance of India in the company’s global growth plans.

“We built Claude to be safe, trusted, and helpful, particularly in contexts where accuracy matters most. This partnership deepens our commitment to India, our second-largest market, with TCS bringing Claude to enterprises and professionals across the region and globally.”

Growing Enterprise AI Adoption

The collaboration reflects a broader trend of increasing enterprise AI adoption, particularly among organizations seeking to improve productivity, automate complex workflows, and enhance decision-making while maintaining compliance standards.

As generative AI moves beyond experimentation into mission-critical business processes, partnerships between AI companies and global technology service providers are becoming increasingly important.

For TCS, the partnership strengthens its position in the rapidly growing enterprise AI market, while for Anthropic, it provides access to one of the largest global enterprise customer networks.

Outlook

The TCS-Anthropic alliance marks a significant step in the evolution of enterprise AI deployment within regulated industries.

With 50,000 employees set to use Claude and industry-specific AI solutions already under development, the partnership is expected to accelerate the adoption of responsible and scalable AI across global enterprises.

As organizations continue to seek trusted AI platforms capable of meeting regulatory requirements, collaborations like this could play a pivotal role in shaping the next phase of enterprise digital transformation.
