Google Cloud Appoints New Leaders for Thailand and Indonesia to Accelerate AI and Cloud Growth in Southeast Asia

Google Cloud has strengthened its leadership team in Southeast Asia with the appointment of Saruj Thipsena as Country Manager for Thailand and Karim Siregar as Country Director for Indonesia. The leadership changes come as demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital transformation solutions continues to accelerate across the region.

Saruj Thipsena to Lead Google Cloud’s Thailand Operations

In his new role, Saruj Thipsena will oversee Google Cloud’s business strategy in Thailand, including sales operations, customer engagement, partner ecosystem development, and overall business growth.

Thipsena brings extensive experience in cloud technology, cybersecurity, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.

Prior to joining Google Cloud, he served as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer at STelligence, where he led projects focused on AI adoption and advanced data analytics. His work included supporting strategic initiatives such as Thailand’s TH2OECD National Project, helping organizations leverage emerging technologies to solve business challenges.

Earlier in his career, Thipsena held senior leadership positions at Microsoft Thailand, including Deputy Managing Director of the Cloud Solution Unit and Chief Information Security Officer, where he played a key role in helping enterprises adopt cloud technologies, strengthen cybersecurity frameworks, and explore generative AI solutions.

Karim Siregar to Drive Google Cloud’s Growth in Indonesia

Google Cloud has also appointed Karim Siregar as Country Director for Indonesia, one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital economies.

In this role, Siregar will lead Google Cloud’s local business operations, strategic initiatives, and customer engagement efforts while helping organizations accelerate their AI transformation and digital modernization programs.

Most recently, Siregar served as Chief Information Officer at PT BFI Finance Indonesia. He was also the founding President Director of PT Bank Jago and previously served as CEO of Dkatalis Digital Labs, where he helped build one of Indonesia’s early digital banking ecosystems.

With more than three decades of experience, Siregar has held leadership positions at major financial institutions including Bank BTPN, Bank Danamon, and Bank Mega. His expertise spans digital banking, financial inclusion, technology infrastructure, enterprise transformation, and innovation-driven growth.

AI Adoption Driving Cloud Demand Across the Region

The appointments come at a time when organizations across Southeast Asia are increasingly investing in artificial intelligence and cloud-based technologies to improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences, and drive business growth.

Google Cloud’s investment in Thailand includes the development of its cloud infrastructure and the launch of a dedicated cloud region in Bangkok, aimed at supporting businesses with improved performance, data residency, and scalability.
