Edtech platform YoLearn ai raises pre-seed round

New Delhi: AI-powered education startup YoLearn.ai has raised $500,000 in a pre-seed funding round at a valuation of $5 million. The investment was co-led by DataAlpha.ai and White Swan Global, with participation from a group of angel investors.

The fresh capital will be used to strengthen the company’s voice-first AI tutoring platform, enhance product capabilities and accelerate expansion across India’s school and competitive examination ecosystem.

Funding to Accelerate AI-Powered Learning

According to the company, the newly raised funds will primarily support the development of its next-generation AI tutoring products, including a voice-first audiovisual tutor equipped with live sketchpad capabilities.

The investment will also help YoLearn.ai expand its presence among students preparing for school examinations and competitive entrance tests across India.

As AI adoption in education continues to grow, the company aims to make personalized learning more accessible through conversational and interactive teaching experiences.

Building a Voice-First AI Tutor

Founded in January 2025 by Kirti Prakash Mishra, YoLearn.ai has developed an AI tutoring platform designed around natural voice conversations rather than traditional text-based interactions.

Its AI tutor combines spoken explanations with an interactive digital whiteboard, allowing the system to draw diagrams, solve equations and visually explain concepts in real time—similar to how teachers use classroom whiteboards during lessons.

The company believes this combination of voice interaction and visual learning can improve student engagement while making complex concepts easier to understand.

Focused on Board Exams and Competitive Test Preparation

While YoLearn.ai supports students across K-12 education, its strongest adoption has come from students in Grades 9 to 12, who often prepare simultaneously for school board examinations and national entrance tests.

The platform currently supports content aligned with:

  • NCERT curriculum
  • CBSE syllabus
  • ICSE syllabus
  • Various State Board curricula

It also provides preparation support for competitive examinations including:

  • JEE
  • NEET
  • CUET

According to the company, its educational content is mapped closely to official syllabi while adapting explanations based on each student’s learning pace and knowledge gaps.

Supporting Learning in 22 Indian Languages

One of YoLearn.ai’s key differentiators is its multilingual AI capability.

The platform enables voice-based learning in 22 Indian languages, including Hindi and Hinglish, allowing students from diverse linguistic backgrounds to interact naturally with the AI tutor.

The company has also introduced AI tutor personas inspired by popular educators, alongside AI Avatar versions of real school teachers that partner institutions can integrate into their classrooms.

Available Across Web, Android and iOS

YoLearn.ai is accessible through multiple digital platforms, including:

  • Web application (yolearn.ai)
  • Android application (YoTutor.ai)
  • iOS application (YoTutor.ai)

Across these platforms, the startup says it has surpassed 200,000 cumulative users, reflecting growing interest in AI-powered education tools.

Competition Intensifies in AI EdTech

The AI education sector has become increasingly competitive as startups race to build personalized learning platforms powered by generative AI.

YoLearn.ai competes with several AI-driven education companies, including:

  • SiglQ.AI
  • Fermi.AI
  • Arivihan.AI
  • CK-12
  • MagicSchool.AI
  • Lytmus.AI

These platforms are leveraging artificial intelligence to provide adaptive learning experiences, automate tutoring and improve student outcomes across academic and competitive learning environments.

India’s AI Education Market Continues to Grow

The funding comes as India’s EdTech ecosystem increasingly embraces artificial intelligence to deliver personalized, scalable and multilingual education solutions.

Growing internet penetration, smartphone adoption and demand for flexible learning are encouraging startups to build AI-powered platforms capable of serving millions of students across urban and rural markets.

Voice-first interfaces are also gaining traction, particularly among learners who prefer conversational interactions over traditional text-based educational tools.

Outlook

With fresh funding in place, YoLearn.ai plans to strengthen its AI tutoring platform and expand its reach across India’s education ecosystem.

By combining voice-based conversations, multilingual support and interactive visual learning, the startup aims to make AI-powered tutoring more engaging and accessible for students preparing for both school and competitive examinations.

As AI continues to reshape digital education, platforms that offer personalized, adaptive and language-inclusive learning experiences are expected to play an increasingly important role in the future of India’s EdTech landscape.
