Submer Group Expands Its Presence in India’s Technology Sector

Barcelona-headquartered Submer Group, known for its advanced data centre cooling technologies, reiterated its long-term commitment to India by announcing the large-scale investment in Madhya Pradesh.

The project is expected to support the state’s ambitions of becoming a major destination for semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and data centre infrastructure.

The proposed facility will contribute to India’s growing demand for AI-ready digital infrastructure while supporting the country’s broader semiconductor manufacturing and digital economy goals.

Madhya Pradesh Positions Itself as a Technology Investment Hub

Speaking at the conclave, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Madhya Pradesh is rapidly transforming into a destination for future-focused industries, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, defence manufacturing, drones, and advanced technology.

He noted that the state has delivered on commitments made during previous editions of the Tech Growth Conclave.

According to the Chief Minister:

  • Previous editions attracted ₹46,000 crore in investment proposals.
  • 22 new industrial units have already been inaugurated.
  • Ground-breaking ceremonies have been completed for four major projects.

Yadav said the state’s industrial transformation reflects India’s broader technology and manufacturing growth under supportive government policies.

Government Announces New Technology Infrastructure Projects

Alongside the Submer investment announcement, the Madhya Pradesh government unveiled several initiatives aimed at strengthening the state’s technology ecosystem.

These include:

  • A 300,000 sq. ft. IT Park in the Indore IT Corridor to support GCCs, semiconductor companies and data centres.
  • A Semiconductor Centre of Excellence focused on skill development and industrial capacity building.
  • A 400,000 sq. ft. IT Park in Bhopal with plug-and-play infrastructure for technology companies.
  • A 5-acre plug-and-play facility at Satgarhi Smart Industry Park.

These projects are designed to attract global technology companies while supporting startups, semiconductor manufacturers, and AI-focused enterprises.

Google Play Partnership Strengthens Digital Ecosystem

During the event, the state government also facilitated the signing of an important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India Lead for Google Play and the Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation (MPSEDC).

The collaboration is expected to strengthen digital innovation, application development, and entrepreneurship within the state.

Technology Investments Continue to Rise

The Madhya Pradesh government said the state has already attracted more than ₹12,000 crore in investments across digital infrastructure and technology sectors.

Officials also indicated that companies participating in MP Tech Growth Conclave 3.0 are expected to announce additional investments exceeding ₹40,000 crore, further accelerating industrial development.

Strengthening India’s Semiconductor and AI Infrastructure

India has been actively encouraging investments in semiconductors, data centres, and AI infrastructure through supportive policies and incentive programmes aimed at reducing import dependence and strengthening domestic manufacturing capabilities.

Large investments such as Submer Group’s are expected to play a significant role in expanding India’s digital infrastructure while supporting cloud computing, artificial intelligence, semiconductor development, and enterprise technology services.

As global demand for advanced computing infrastructure continues to grow, Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself as an emerging destination for high-value technology investments.
