PolicyStreet Raises Additional US$5 Million from BlueOrchard, Extends Series C Funding to US$26 Million

Kuala Lumpur: Southeast Asian insurtech company PolicyStreet has raised an additional US$5 million in its Series C funding round from BlueOrchard, a leading global impact investment manager and member of the Schroders Group. The latest investment increases the company’s total Series C funding to US$26 million, strengthening its plans to expand digital insurance access across Asia.

The fresh capital will support PolicyStreet’s mission of making insurance more affordable, accessible, and technology-driven through its embedded insurance platform.

Funding to Accelerate Digital Insurance Growth

With BlueOrchard joining the company’s investor base, PolicyStreet aims to strengthen its position in the fast-growing insurtech sector by expanding its digital insurance offerings for both businesses and consumers.

The company leverages embedded insurance technology, enabling insurance products to be seamlessly integrated into digital platforms, helping customers access coverage more conveniently.

The investment also reinforces growing investor confidence in technology-enabled insurance solutions that address the protection gap across emerging Asian markets.

Strong Backing from Global Investors

BlueOrchard joins an established group of institutional investors supporting PolicyStreet, including:

  • Khazanah Nasional Berhad
  • Cool Japan Fund
  • Altara Ventures
  • Gobi Partners

The expanded funding is expected to accelerate product innovation, market expansion, and the company’s long-term growth strategy.

Focus on Financial Inclusion

Commenting on the funding, Yen Ming Lee, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PolicyStreet, said:

“As PolicyStreet scales, we have always been driven by more than revenue growth. Our mission has been clear from day one: to narrow the protection gap and make insurance more accessible, affordable, and relevant. BlueOrchard’s participation in our Series C round is a strong validation of that mission and our belief that impact and commercial success can go hand in hand. Insurance is not a luxury. It is a necessity, and we remain committed to expanding access to protection for underserved communities across Asia.”

BlueOrchard Highlights Inclusive Insurance Model

Alice Mak, Investment Director, Private Equity at BlueOrchard, said the investment reflects confidence in PolicyStreet’s ability to scale inclusive insurance solutions across the region.

“PolicyStreet has demonstrated that insurance can be delivered in a way that is both inclusive and scalable. Through its embedded insurance model, the company is expanding access to protection for underserved and underinsured communities while building a sustainable business. We are excited to support the team as they continue scaling their impact across the region.”

Building Asia’s Digital Insurance Ecosystem

Founded in 2016 by Yen Ming Lee, PolicyStreet has evolved into a full-stack insurtech platform serving businesses and consumers across Asia and Australia.

The company provides end-to-end digital insurance solutions that enable customers to purchase, manage, and access insurance products through digital channels. Its embedded insurance platform helps businesses integrate insurance directly into customer journeys, simplifying policy distribution and improving accessibility.

Rising Demand for Embedded Insurance

The latest investment comes as embedded insurance continues to gain momentum globally. Financial institutions, e-commerce platforms, travel companies, and digital marketplaces are increasingly integrating insurance products into their services to offer customers seamless protection.

As digital adoption accelerates across Asia, insurtech companies such as PolicyStreet are playing an important role in expanding insurance penetration, particularly among underserved and underinsured communities.

With the additional capital, PolicyStreet plans to further strengthen its technology platform, scale regional operations, and drive financial inclusion through innovative digital insurance solutions.
