BUSY strengthens its people and culture leadership as it scales AI-powered accounting software and prepares for its next phase of growth.
Accounting and business software company BUSY has appointed Gyanendra Acharya as Vice President, People and Culture, bringing more than 25 years of experience in human resources, organisational development and talent transformation to the company.
In his new role, Acharya will lead BUSY’s HR strategy as the company expands its AI-first SaaS capabilities and builds the organisational infrastructure required to support its growth plans.
Building a Scalable People Strategy
Acharya’s mandate will focus on developing scalable people systems, strengthening leadership capabilities and shifting HR operations toward a data-driven model.
His responsibilities will include establishing clearer performance metrics, aligning teams and workflows with the requirements of an AI-first SaaS organisation, and developing playbook-driven HR processes that can support the company as it expands.
The role is also expected to play an important part in supporting potential acquisitions, including the people, culture and talent integration associated with bringing new teams into BUSY.
BUSY Expands Its AI-First SaaS Roadmap
The leadership appointment comes after BUSY launched BUSY Magic, its next-generation accounting software aimed at growing businesses.
The platform includes AI-powered capabilities such as:
- AI-powered voucher scanning
- AI bank reconciliation
- GST Assistant
As the accounting and compliance software market evolves, BUSY is strengthening its internal talent capabilities to support its broader AI-first product strategy.
The company also sees significant potential in India’s expanding formal MSME ecosystem. According to the information provided by the company, India’s formal MSME base has surpassed 1.65 crore GST-registered businesses, highlighting the scale of the addressable market for accounting and compliance technology.

Gyanendra Acharya Brings 25+ Years of Experience
Acharya joins BUSY from VeggieKart Marketing Pvt. Ltd., where he served as Co-Founder and helped the company scale to ₹40 crore in revenue.
During his tenure, the company recorded 25% year-on-year growth for four consecutive years while transitioning toward lean, ERP-led processes.
Before VeggieKart, Acharya was Co-Founder at Ekistics Solutions and held HR leadership positions at organisations including:
- Gram Vikas
- Hughes Systique Corporation
- RBS India Development Centre
- Convergys India
- TechBooks
His career has included enterprise-wide HR digitisation, data-backed HR scorecards and workforce planning, along with leadership-transition and post-acquisition integration programmes.
At Gram Vikas, he was involved in workforce planning for a ₹2,000 crore World Bank and OSDMA social housing initiative. He has also supported rapid headcount expansion during high-growth periods at organisations including Hughes Systique and Convergys.
