Edtech startup PlanetSpark raises $13.5M in Series B

PlanetSpark, a Gurugram-based edtech business, raised $13.5 million in a Series-B fundraising round led by Prime Venture Partners and prominent global entrepreneurs Binny Bansal, Deep Kalra, Dr Ashish Gupta, Gokul Rajaram, and Shirish Nadkarni on Tuesday.

PlanetSpark, founded in 2016 by Maneesh Dhooper and Kunal Malik, provides live 1:1 public speaking and creative writing workshops for children aged 4 to 16. A ‘Wow’ curriculum is available from the company, which incorporates storytelling, debating, podcasting, stand-up comedy, poetry, and much more.

Speaking of this round, Kunal Malik, Co-founder, PlanetSpark said, “Communication skills are the most fundamental and desirable skills that parents wish to impart in their kids. However, these skills are rarely taught anywhere. Till now, parents never thought that a reliable and structured option to develop communication skills of their children existed. With live learning coming of age in the past two years, we are the first global company to structure a program on new-age communication skills, for kids.
