AirProbe, a Bengaluru-based firm that employs artificial intelligence (AI) for solar system inspections, was bought by DroneBase, a U.S. intelligent aerial imaging company, for an undisclosed sum last week.
AirProbe, founded in 2017 by Aditya Bhat, Kaustubh Karnataki, and Ganesh Shankar, combines thermal drone imaging to detect solar cell flaws and AI to increase efficiency.
The deal allows three co-founders to quit the seeded firm, which began as a problem-solving exercise in a course Ganesh taught at Bengaluru’s Indian Institute of Science. DroneBase’s Asia-Pacific market operations will be overseen by Aditya and Kaustub, who will remain with the company. Since 2019, Ganesh, who is also the founder of Technologies FluxGen, has served as an advisory role as Managing Director.
