Online farm equipment firm Pumpkart gets $2 Mn under Samruddhi scheme

Pumpkart, an e-commerce platform for farm equipment and water pumps, said that it has received $2 million in investment from the Karnataka government’s Samruddhi programme.

Pumpkart is an online B2B marketplace for water pumps and various associated supplies, founded by KS Bhatia in June 2014. Pumps can be bought and sold on the platform by manufacturers, dealers, and customers. It also offers a variety of payment methods to its consumers, including online payment, COD, and EMIs.

The Samruddhi plan is a programme aimed at encouraging entrepreneurs among the economically disadvantaged in Karnataka. Participants would be able to open a retail business after completing a training programme.

Pumpkart was chosen to open more than 100 outlets across Karnataka as part of this programme. Over 75 stores have been successfully handed over to applicants across the state by the Chandigarh-based firm.
