Virtual events platform Airmeet raises $35M

Prosus Ventures, Sistema Asia Capital, RingCentral Ventures, KDDI Open Innovation Fund, DG Daiwa Ventures, and consultancy firm Nexxus Global have announced a $35 million Series B round of funding for virtual event and engagement platform Airmeet.

Lalit Mangal, co-founder of CommonFloor, with former executives Manoj Singh and Vinay Jaasti created Airmeet in August 2019.

In September 2020, Airmeet raised $12 million in a Series A investment lead by Sequoia Capital. Prior to that, it had secured $3 million from Accel India in March.

Currently, the startup provides an online conference and a social webinar style for virtual events aimed at B2B clients.

The funds wlll be used to grow the startup’s global footprint as well as its research and development efforts. According to a statement released by the company, it would also use the equity money to scale its go-to-market function and invest in strategic operations to increase brand visibility in the worldwide market.
