Plant-based meat brand Shaka Harry raises seed funding of $2 M

Liberate Foods, a Bengaluru-based plant protein startup with a meat alternative line called Shaka Harry, has received a $ 2 million seed funding round led by Better Bite Ventures, Blue Horizon, and venture debt fund Panthera Peak.

Liberate Foods was founded by proven entrepreneurs with prior experience and success scaling businesses in India and around the world. Anand Nagarajan, Sandeep Devgan, Hemalatha Srinivasan, Ruth Renita, and Anoop Haridasan are among the co-founders. The cofounders and leadership team are made up of specialist, functional leaders with extensive food industry experience.

Shaka Harry, one of the fastest growing plant-based meat brands, provides a variety of meal and snack products inspired by Indian cuisine and palate. Snackables and meal accompaniments are among the items available. With access to proprietary taste and flavour solutions and the brand’s partnership with Chef Manu Chandra, one of India’s top chefs, the product has a distinct advantage
