Tata Power aims for 25,000 EV charging stations by 2028

Tata Power, a prominent integrated power company in India, is set to significantly expand its EV charging infrastructure across the country. With the growing popularity of electric vehicles, the company aims to surpass 25,000 charging points within the next five years. This commitment reaffirms Tata Power’s previously announced strategy for network growth, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023, where they exhibited a wide range of advanced EV charging solutions.

As the leading operator in the EV charging point market, holding nearly 60% market share in India, the Tata Group subsidiary has already installed over 40,000 home chargers, approximately 4,000 public and semi-public charging points, and 250 bus charging points.

Tata Power offers a user-friendly mobile app called Tata Power EZ Charge for EV charging. This app enhances the overall charging experience by enabling users to easily locate the nearest charging station, access real-time information on charging point availability, and receive updates on their charging status.

Presently operating in 550 cities, Tata Power provides charging solutions for various settings, including homes, workplaces, fleet stations, public areas, and commercial hubs such as e-bus charging depots. Many of these stations are equipped with fast charging technology and strategically placed in locations such as malls, hotels, airports, and office complexes.
