Qualcomm Named Savi Soin as President of Qualcomm India

Qualcomm Incorporated has officially appointed Savi Soin as the new Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India. This appointment comes into effect immediately, and he will be reporting directly to Jim Cathey, the Chief Commercial Officer of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (QCT). In his new role as President of Qualcomm India, Soin will take charge of overseeing and implementing the company’s strategic initiatives in India. He will focus on building strong relationships with industry partners and the Government of India across various sectors, including mobile, automotive, semiconductor, industrial & IoT, and communication infrastructure.

Savi Soin brings with him a wealth of experience, having been with Qualcomm for over two decades, including the last ten years spent as a key member of Qualcomm’s senior leadership team. Throughout his tenure, he has played a crucial role in shaping the company’s strategic direction in different leadership positions. Notably, Soin recently led the Global Strategic Partnerships and Business Incubation team for Qualcomm Technologies, where he was instrumental in developing new businesses and fostering strategic alliances. Prior to that, he served as the head of Strategy and Business Development at Qualcomm Technologies’ semiconductor division, overseeing the planning and execution of Qualcomm’s overall strategy.

Rajen Vagadia, Qualcomm India President for the last 5 years, will relocate to Qualcomm headquarters in San Diego and transition to a new role as a Vice President to lead Global Distribution and Global Carrier Strategy. Under his leadership, Qualcomm Technologies strengthened its position in India as an ecosystem enabler and leader in wireless technologies, built important relationships with stakeholders towards the roll out of 4G and 5G in India, and expanded its presence in industry segments like Automotive and IoT.

He will continue driving our efforts towards furthering the semiconductor and start-up ecosystem in India by leveraging the strength and scale of Qualcomm’s innovations and technology assets. In addition, he will be focused on accelerating transformation in areas such as 5G, AI, IoT and Automotive, building on our strong engineering presence and brand in the India market.
