In a momentous occasion graced by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), MBRGI and Sobha Realty have entered a charitable grant agreement for the establishment of an endowment university in Dubai. This initiative is part of the prestigious Mothers’ Endowment campaign, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to honor mothers and support education through a remarkable AED 1 billion endowment fund.
Sobha Realty will undertake the construction and development of an AED 400 million university campus building in Dubai over a span of 4 years, representing one of the UAE’s most substantial charity donations. Upon completion, the project will be entrusted to MBRGI, which will collaborate with a prestigious international university to oversee operations.
With a capacity to accommodate 2,000 students, the forthcoming endowment university aims to diversify higher education options for both domestic and international students, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various disciplines.
His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, Secretary General of MBRGI, emphasized the significance of establishing an endowment university in Dubai, aligning with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to prioritize education as a catalyst for human civilization’s advancement.
PNC Menon, Founder and Chairman of Sobha Realty, expressed their enthusiasm for contributing to the Mothers’ Endowment campaign and emphasized the enduring benefits of investing in education.
