Fortinet Appoints Luca Simonelli as Senior Vice President for Asia Pacific to Drive Regional Growth

Singapore: Global cybersecurity company Fortinet has appointed Luca Simonelli as its new Senior Vice President (SVP) for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, strengthening its leadership team as demand for cybersecurity solutions continues to rise across the region.

Based in Singapore, Simonelli will lead Fortinet’s sales organization across Asia Pacific and oversee operations in Japan, North Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, India & SAARC, Australia, and New Zealand.

His appointment comes as enterprises across the region accelerate digital transformation, adopt artificial intelligence (AI), and modernize critical infrastructure, driving increased demand for integrated cybersecurity solutions.

Focus on Regional Expansion

In his new role, Simonelli will be responsible for expanding Fortinet’s presence across Asia Pacific by strengthening customer relationships, deepening partner engagement, and supporting the company’s long-term growth strategy.

He will lead regional sales initiatives while helping organizations address evolving cybersecurity challenges associated with cloud adoption, networking, AI, and digital transformation.

Luca Simonelli brings more than 30 years of experience in the technology industry, with expertise spanning:

Before rejoining Fortinet, he held a senior leadership role at GCX Managed Services.

Simonelli previously spent nearly eight years at Fortinet, where he successfully led the company’s business across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), helping expand operations and build high-performing regional teams.

Simonelli holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Milan and is currently based in Singapore.
