Egypt’s Fincart Secures $2.8 Million Seed Funding to Scale E-Commerce Logistics Platform

Cairo: Egypt-based e-commerce logistics startup Fincart has raised $2.8 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round to accelerate its expansion across Africa and the Middle East. The investment will support the company’s technology development, commercial growth, and strategic partnerships as demand for integrated e-commerce infrastructure continues to rise across the region.

The funding round was co-led by Launch Africa and Antler MENAP, with participation from Yango Ventures, Five35 Ventures, Bluestream Capital, Hi2 Global, Kalahari Venture Labs, and several investors focused on the Middle East and Africa (MENA) ecosystem.

The latest investment follows Fincart’s earlier pre-seed funding round, which was led by Plus VC with participation from Orbit Ventures, Plug and Play, and other regional investors.

Funding to Accelerate Regional Expansion

According to the company, the newly raised capital will be used to:

  • Expand commercial and technology teams
  • Invest in product development
  • Build new strategic partnerships
  • Strengthen merchant solutions
  • Enter additional regional markets beginning in 2027

The company aims to enhance its platform capabilities while supporting merchants with integrated logistics, financial services, and customer engagement tools.

CEO Highlights Growth Strategy

Commenting on the funding, Mustafa Masry, CEO and Co-founder of Fincart, said the investment will enable the company to accelerate its regional expansion, deepen partnerships, and develop solutions that help merchants improve operational efficiency and increase sales.

The company is focused on simplifying e-commerce operations for businesses by combining logistics, financing, and customer engagement into a single platform.

Building an Integrated Commerce Infrastructure

Founded to address operational challenges faced by online merchants, Fincart operates an integrated e-commerce platform connecting businesses with more than 40 shipping providers, making it one of Africa’s largest connected shipping networks.

Beyond logistics, the platform also offers:

  • AI-powered customer engagement tools
  • Customer retention solutions
  • Short-term cash advance services based on merchant sales
  • Automated cash-on-delivery reconciliation
  • Shipping management and fulfillment tools

The integrated approach enables merchants to manage multiple business functions from a single platform rather than relying on separate software providers.

Growing Merchant Network

Fincart currently serves more than 450 merchants and enterprise customers operating across industries including:

  • Fashion
  • Cosmetics
  • Consumer electronics
  • Accessories

The company has processed nearly EGP 1 billion (approximately US$20 million) in gross merchandise value (GMV) through its automated logistics and payment workflows.

Simplifying Merchant Operations

Nihal Ali, COO and Co-founder of Fincart, said many merchants currently rely on multiple disconnected platforms for shipping, payments, and customer communication.

According to Ali, Fincart replaces these fragmented systems with a unified platform that simplifies operations and improves business efficiency.

Investor Confidence in Africa’s E-Commerce Opportunity

Investors believe the company is well positioned to capitalize on the growing digital commerce market across the region.

Lina Kacyem, Investment Manager at Launch Africa, noted that Egypt’s e-commerce market remains highly active, with cash-on-delivery continuing to dominate transactions while many small and medium-sized businesses remain underserved.

Meanwhile, Romain Assunção, Managing Partner at Antler MENAP, said the investment reflects confidence in the founding team’s industry expertise and execution capabilities. He added that Egypt has the potential to serve as a strategic launchpad for commerce infrastructure across both the Middle East and Africa.

Africa’s E-Commerce Ecosystem Continues to Expand

The rapid growth of digital commerce across Africa and the Middle East is creating demand for integrated platforms that combine logistics, financial services, and merchant enablement.

As online retailers seek greater operational efficiency and faster fulfillment, technology providers offering end-to-end commerce infrastructure are becoming increasingly important to the region’s digital economy.

With fresh funding, Fincart plans to strengthen its technology platform while expanding into new markets and supporting more merchants across the MENA region.

Why It Matters

The $2.8 million funding round reflects growing investor confidence in Africa’s digital commerce ecosystem. As e-commerce adoption accelerates across emerging markets, integrated logistics and merchant enablement platforms like Fincart are expected to play a critical role in helping businesses scale efficiently while improving customer experience.
