BENGALURU, Aug. 7 — Global payments technology company Visa has appointed Adrija Banerjee as Head of AI Practice for North America (Senior Director), strengthening its leadership team as the company accelerates the adoption of artificial intelligence across its payments and financial services business.
Banerjee brings more than a decade of experience spanning artificial intelligence, machine learning, digital transformation, strategy consulting, and financial services.
She joins Visa from American Express, where she served as Director, leading strategic initiatives at the intersection of AI and business transformation.
Before American Express, Banerjee spent nearly seven years at McKinsey & Company, holding multiple leadership roles focused on artificial intelligence, machine learning, enterprise risk management, and large-scale digital transformation programs for global clients.
Earlier in her career, she worked with Deloitte India (Offices of the US) and ICICI Lombard, building expertise across consulting, analytics, and financial services.
The appointment comes as financial institutions increasingly invest in AI to enhance fraud detection, customer experience, risk management, operational efficiency, and product innovation. Global payments companies are expanding AI capabilities amid growing demand for intelligent payment systems and real-time decision-making.
Visa has continued to invest in AI-powered technologies across payments, cybersecurity, and customer engagement as the financial services industry embraces generative AI and advanced analytics.
