Deloitte Acquires Wavicle Data Solutions to Accelerate Enterprise AI and Databricks Capabilities

NEW YORK, September 2, 2026 — Deloitte has acquired substantially all of the assets of Wavicle Data Solutions, a data and AI engineering organization known for its Databricks practice, in a move designed to expand Deloitte’s ability to help businesses build the data foundations required for enterprise AI at scale.

The acquisition brings Wavicle’s technical expertise in Databricks across major hyperscalers, along with industry-focused data engineering capabilities spanning consumer goods, manufacturing, financial services, life sciences and healthcare.

For Deloitte, the deal strengthens its position as an enterprise orchestrator for Databricks while expanding its ability to deliver customized data and AI solutions across industries.

Deloitte Strengthens Enterprise AI Strategy

As companies move from AI experimentation toward enterprise-wide deployment, modernizing data infrastructure has become a critical requirement.

Deloitte said the combination with Wavicle will enable clients to accelerate engineering delivery and develop industry-specific solutions through a Databricks-centric, multi-alliance portfolio.

Forward-deployed engineers from Wavicle are expected to contribute specialized technical expertise to help clients develop customized solutions around their data and AI requirements.

Jason Salzetti, chair and CEO of Deloitte Consulting LLP, said the combination would help clients strengthen their data foundations and turn AI investments into business value more quickly and at scale.

The acquisition also expands Deloitte’s existing AI and engineering capabilities at a time when enterprises are increasingly focused on making AI work within complex operational environments.

Wavicle Brings Deep Databricks Expertise

A key component of the acquisition is Wavicle’s expertise in Databricks, particularly its ability to manage the platform across major hyperscaler environments.

Wavicle also brings industry-specific data engineering experience across several sectors, including:

  • Consumer goods
  • Manufacturing
  • Financial services
  • Life sciences
  • Healthcare

This combination of technical and industry expertise could help Deloitte address one of the biggest challenges facing enterprises: translating modern data platforms into practical AI applications.

Naveen Venkatapathi, managing director for Wavicle, said the organizations share a focus on making AI work for enterprises and that combining Wavicle’s engineering talent with Deloitte’s AI and engineering business would expand their ability to deliver data-strong, AI-powered solutions.

Deloitte and Databricks Expand Strategic Relationship

The transaction builds on Deloitte’s established relationship with Databricks, bringing together capabilities across data, analytics and artificial intelligence.

At the Data + AI Summit, Deloitte was named a 2026 Databricks Partner Award winner in three Consulting and System Integrator categories:

  • North America Partner of the Year for regulated and unregulated industries
  • Banking Partner of the Year
  • Public Sector SLED Partner of the Year

The recognition highlights Deloitte’s work with Databricks in delivering solutions for industries where security, compliance and measurable outcomes are particularly important.

With Wavicle joining its broader capabilities, Deloitte is positioning its Databricks practice for the next stage of enterprise AI adoption.

Data Modernization Becomes Critical for AI

The acquisition reflects a broader shift in enterprise technology spending.

Organizations are increasingly discovering that deploying sophisticated AI models is only one part of an AI transformation. Reliable, modernized and accessible data infrastructure is equally important for building AI applications that can operate effectively across business functions.

Sundhar Sekhar, chief services officer at Deloitte Consulting LLP, said modernizing data ecosystems is a critical foundation for companies seeking to differentiate through AI.

By combining Wavicle’s technical leadership with Deloitte’s Databricks capabilities and industry expertise, the firm aims to help enterprises modernize their data environments and move AI projects into real-world production faster.

What the Wavicle Acquisition Means for Deloitte

The acquisition gives Deloitte several strategic advantages:

Stronger Databricks capabilities: Wavicle adds specialized expertise around one of the leading enterprise data and AI platforms.

Expanded data engineering talent: Deloitte gains additional technical capabilities focused on building modern data foundations.

Industry-specific AI solutions: Wavicle’s experience across multiple industries can complement Deloitte’s extensive sector expertise.

Hyperscaler capabilities: Experience managing Databricks across major cloud platforms strengthens Deloitte’s ability to support complex enterprise environments.

Faster AI deployment: The combined engineering capabilities are designed to help organizations move from data modernization to AI implementation more quickly.

The Bigger Enterprise AI Opportunity

Deloitte’s acquisition of Wavicle comes as businesses increasingly shift their AI strategies from experimentation toward measurable enterprise outcomes.

That transition is putting greater emphasis on data engineering, cloud infrastructure, analytics, AI governance and industry-specific implementation.

For professional services firms and technology integrators, the competitive opportunity is no longer simply helping companies adopt AI tools. It increasingly involves building the underlying technology ecosystem that allows AI to operate across the enterprise.

Deloitte’s Wavicle acquisition is therefore more than an expansion of its Databricks practice. It represents a broader push to strengthen the infrastructure, engineering and industry capabilities required to make enterprise AI work at scale.
