Souraabh Saluja

Co-Founder — EvolveMinds & EevolveX  |  Gurgaon, India
Serial entrepreneur operating from Gurgaon — India's most competitive business ecosystem. Souraabh built two companies from the rubble of the COVID downturn: EevolveX, a specialist recruitment firm, and EvolveMinds, a workspace management and managed office solutions company. His central thesis: the right talent and the right environment are two sides of the same coin, and both are strategic decisions that define whether a company scales or stalls.

When the pandemic shuttered businesses across India, Souraabh Saluja chose to rebuild — not retreat. Armed with over 10+ years of corporate hiring experience and a sharp understanding of what growing companies actually need, he co-founded two ventures that together address one of Indian entrepreneurship's most underestimated twin challenges: building great teams, and giving them a great place to work.

The Origin Story

ENN: EvolveMinds and EevolveX didn't begin as a textbook planned venture. Take us back to where it all started.

Souraabh: Honestly, it started out of a tough phase. During COVID, my existing business took a serious hit, and I was at a point where I had to rebuild from scratch. Around the same time, a large retail company was looking for a recruitment partner. I already had 10+ years of hiring experience from my corporate journey — so this was something I understood deeply. That's how EevolveX, our recruitment arm, began taking shape. But as we worked closely with growing companies, I realised that hiring alone is not enough. The environment where people work plays an equally important role. That insight led to EvolveMinds expanding into workspace management and managed office solutions. We don't just help companies build teams — we help them build the right ecosystem.

The right people — in the right environment — don't just fill roles. They build companies.

Talent as a Business Strategy

ENN: What is the single biggest hiring mistake founders make that costs them growth?

Souraabh: I always tell founders — focus on growing your business, not on managing hiring end-to-end yourself. Hiring takes enormous time and effort. If founders spend too much time screening candidates, they lose focus on business growth. That's why recruitment should be outsourced — and partners like EevolveX should be treated as an extension of your team, not just a vendor. And timing is absolutely critical. Many founders spend too long chasing the "perfect candidate." In reality, waiting too long can slow down the entire business. It's better to hire the right person at the right time than to delay decisions chasing perfection.

Beyond the Resume: Reading Intent

ENN: With AI now handling skill-matching instantly, what's the new frontier in recruitment that machines can't crack?

Souraabh: Today, skill-matching is not a challenge — even AI can do that. The real difference comes from understanding the intent of the candidate. I always focus on one key question: Why does this candidate want to make a move? That answer tells you everything about their mindset and long-term stability. Cultural fit cannot be measured on paper — but it absolutely can be understood through deep conversations and patterns. At EevolveX, we focus on this deeper layer. Because in the long run, the candidate who genuinely aligns with the company's culture will always outperform the one who is merely technically strong.

The EevolveX Hiring Philosophy

  • Go beyond skills — assess the candidate's intent and motivation for moving
  • Treat cultural fit as a measurable discipline, not a gut feeling
  • Hire at the right time — not after waiting indefinitely for the perfect profile
  • Treat your recruitment partner as a team extension, not a transactional vendor

The Leadership Talent Crisis

ENN: Leadership hiring is notoriously complex in India. What patterns do you see breaking companies at this level?

Souraabh: At the leadership level, I often see companies hiring based on brand names instead of relevance. Just because someone has worked at a large, famous organisation doesn't mean they'll succeed in a completely different setup. The common mistakes are: not defining the problem clearly before hiring, hiring based on how impressive the profile looks rather than on outcomes, and ignoring adaptability. The only question leadership hiring should answer is — "Can this person solve our specific problem at our current stage of business?" — not — "How impressive does this profile look on a slide?"

The Workspace Pivot

ENN: How did EvolveMinds evolve from a talent company into workspace management? What was the inflection point?

Souraabh: Through EevolveX, we kept seeing that even great hires struggle when the work environment is not right. Where people work directly impacts productivity, mindset, and collaboration. A growing startup needs flexibility and scalability — the workspace should evolve with the team, not create friction for it. So today, we look at both sides: bringing in the right talent, and ensuring they have the right environment to actually perform. Because talent and environment go hand in hand. One without the other is incomplete.

The EvolveMinds Workspace Framework

  • Flexibility is a growth enabler — not just a cost-optimisation lever
  • Your office is your brand — clients and candidates form an impression the moment they walk in
  • Choose a workspace that scales with your hiring plan, not against it
  • The right question is never "what's cheapest?" — it's "what setup helps us attract better talent and scale faster?"

Gurgaon: The Live Business Laboratory

ENN: You've built from Gurgaon, one of India's most competitive business ecosystems. What has that environment taught you?

Souraabh: Gurgaon teaches you speed and adaptability above everything else. It's one of the most competitive ecosystems in India — startups, MNCs, and scaling companies all competing fiercely for the same talent and the same space. Everything moves fast: hiring decisions, business pivots, market shifts. You cannot afford to be slow here. Building a business in Gurgaon genuinely sharpens your decision-making and gives you real-time exposure to how companies at every stage actually scale. It is, in every sense, a live business laboratory.

Consistency matters more than virality. In recruitment and consulting, people work with those they trust — and trust is built one honest insight at a time.

Advice to Ambitious Professionals & The Bigger Vision

ENN: What is your most important piece of advice to ambitious professionals who feel their career growth has stalled?

Souraabh: If you are not growing in your current organisation, you should absolutely explore opportunities. But do not change jobs frequently just for salary hikes. Short-term salary growth doesn't always build the right experience. Focus on learning, exposure, and role quality. Because in the long run, your experience defines your career trajectory — not just your last drawn salary.

ENN: Final question — where do you see EvolveMinds and EevolveX in the next 5 years?

Souraabh: For me, success in the next 5 years is not just about scaling the businesses. It is about building a more integrated approach — where EevolveX continues to solve for talent and hiring, and EvolveMinds strengthens its position in workspace management and managed office solutions. The vision is to help companies across 3 dimensions: talent acquisition, workforce planning, and workspace strategy — because all three are deeply connected. But beyond the business numbers, the bigger goal is to change one fundamental mindset: hiring and workspace are not operational decisions — they are the most strategic decisions a founder will ever make.
