Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Government is preparing a major push into artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, quantum computing, semiconductor design, and other frontier technologies with plans to establish India’s largest integrated robotics and advanced manufacturing hub in Noida.
The ambitious initiative forms part of the state’s broader strategy to position Uttar Pradesh as a national leader in emerging technologies while accelerating innovation, manufacturing, and employment generation.
PRAGATI Project to Anchor India’s Robotics Ecosystem
The proposed facility, named PRAGATI (Park for Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, GPU Clusters and Advanced Technical Innovation), will be developed across nearly 75 acres in Noida.
According to the state government, the project is envisioned as India’s first integrated robotics and advanced manufacturing cluster, bringing together cutting-edge infrastructure for research, innovation, product development, and commercialisation under one campus.
The project was reviewed during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, where officials from the Information Technology and Electronics Department presented the roadmap for the state’s emerging technology ecosystem.
Comprehensive Innovation Infrastructure
The PRAGATI park will integrate several advanced technology facilities, including:
- Robotics testing and certification centres
- Rapid prototyping facilities
- Artificial Intelligence computing infrastructure
- GPU clusters
- Motion capture laboratories
- Physical AI data centres
- Startup incubation centres
- Innovation labs
- Co-working spaces for technology companies and entrepreneurs
The integrated ecosystem is expected to support startups, researchers, manufacturers, educational institutions, and global technology companies working in advanced technologies.
More Than One Lakh Jobs Expected
The Uttar Pradesh Government estimates that the project will generate over one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities over the coming years.
In addition, officials project that the initiative could contribute more than ₹2,000 crore in Gross Value Addition (GVA) within the next five years, strengthening the state’s technology-driven economic growth.
The project is expected to become a major catalyst for attracting domestic and international investments into robotics, AI, automation, and advanced manufacturing.
Two Deep-Tech Innovation Centres Planned
Alongside the Noida robotics hub, the state government also plans to establish two dedicated Deep-Tech Innovation Centres in:
- Noida
- Lucknow
These centres will focus on nurturing innovation, supporting research and development, and encouraging collaboration between academia, startups, industry, and government agencies.
The initiative aims to accelerate the commercialization of emerging technologies while strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s growing technology ecosystem.
Uttar Pradesh Targets Leadership in Frontier Technologies
During the review meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed officials to prepare a comprehensive strategy for positioning Uttar Pradesh as a national hub for frontier technologies.
The state’s roadmap includes strengthening capabilities across:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- Robotics
- Quantum Computing
- Semiconductor Design
- Advanced Manufacturing
- GPU Computing
- Deep-Tech Innovation
The government believes that investments in these sectors will play a crucial role in driving industrial growth, digital transformation, and high-value employment.
Strengthening India’s Advanced Manufacturing Vision
The proposed robotics and AI hub aligns with India’s broader vision of strengthening domestic manufacturing, semiconductor capabilities, digital innovation, and technological self-reliance.
As industries increasingly adopt automation, intelligent manufacturing systems, and AI-driven operations, integrated technology parks like PRAGATI are expected to become key enablers of India’s next phase of industrial growth.
If implemented as planned, the Noida project could emerge as one of the country’s largest innovation ecosystems dedicated to robotics, artificial intelligence, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
