BENGALURU, August 26, 2026: Scooby’s Club, a Bengaluru-based pet-care startup building a network of premium neighbourhood dog-care hubs, has raised $250,000 in pre-seed funding in a round led by TDV Partners.
The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its presence across Bengaluru, strengthen its team of canine coaches and develop its model of professionally managed dog daycare, boarding and wellness services.
Founded in 2025 by Animeha Singh and Ankit Gupta, Scooby’s Club is targeting a growing gap in India’s urban pet-care ecosystem: reliable, transparent and professionally managed spaces where pet parents can leave their dogs for a few hours, a full day or longer stays.
Scooby’s Club Targets India’s Growing Pet-Care Market
India’s pet-care market is estimated at around ₹6,000 crore and is growing at an estimated 20% CAGR, according to the company.
At the same time, pet ownership is increasing by approximately 5% annually, reflecting a broader shift in how urban households view pets.
For many pet parents, dogs are increasingly treated as members of the family rather than simply household animals. This shift is creating demand for services beyond traditional food, grooming and veterinary care.
Scooby’s Club is positioning itself around this emerging demand for everyday professional dog care.
Startup Plans 100 Neighbourhood Dog Care Hubs
The company currently operates in Bengaluru and plans to add two new properties over the next six to 12 months.
Its longer-term ambition is to build a network of approximately 100 properties across major Indian cities.
Rather than concentrating only on large standalone facilities, Scooby’s Club is pursuing a neighbourhood-led model, bringing dog-care services closer to where pet parents live and work.
The model is designed to make professional dog care more accessible for routine requirements such as workdays, errands, travel and social commitments.
Canine Behaviour Science at the Core
Scooby’s Club says its facilities are designed around principles of canine behaviour and animal wellbeing.
Dogs undergo temperament assessments and are grouped according to size to encourage safer social interaction.
The facilities feature:
- Indoor, climate-controlled spaces
- Temperament-based grouping
- Canine behaviour-focused care
- Mental enrichment through environmental design
- Allergen-sensitive care
- Personalised attention
- 24/7 CCTV access for pet parents
The company aims to provide greater visibility and consistency than traditional boarding or informal pet-care arrangements.
Founders Bring Startup and Canine Behaviour Experience
Scooby’s Club was founded by Animeha Singh and Ankit Gupta, both alumni of XLRI Jamshedpur.
The founders bring approximately nine years each of experience working in the startup ecosystem.
Singh has also studied canine behaviour and brings expertise in dog psychology and behavioural science to the business.
The founders said their own experiences as pet parents highlighted the lack of reliable options for people who need a trusted second space for their dogs.
TDV Partners Leads Pre-Seed Investment
TDV Partners led Scooby’s Club’s $250,000 pre-seed round.
Ujwal Sutaria, Founder and General Partner at TDV Partners, said the investment reflects the growing opportunity created by changing lifestyles, higher disposable incomes and increasing spending on pets.
According to the investor, pet-care demand is expanding beyond basic products and services toward areas such as wellbeing, training, travel, insurance and specialised care.
For Scooby’s Club, the investment provides capital to expand its physical network while building the operational and talent infrastructure required for a consistent customer experience.
Building a More Organised Pet-Care Ecosystem
India’s pet-care industry remains fragmented, with consumers often relying on independent boarding facilities, home-based services and traditional kennels.
Scooby’s Club is attempting to introduce a more structured model by combining physical infrastructure, canine behavioural expertise, technology and professional care.
The company believes this approach could help create a new category of premium, everyday dog care for urban households.
What Comes Next for Scooby’s Club?
The immediate priority is expanding across Bengaluru with two additional properties over the next six to 12 months.
The startup will also focus on recruiting and training canine coaches as it expands its network.
Over the longer term, Scooby’s Club wants to take its neighbourhood model to other major Indian cities and build 100 professionally managed dog-care hubs.
As India’s pet population and spending on pet wellbeing continue to grow, the company is betting that pet parents will increasingly expect the same standards of convenience, safety and professional service for their dogs that they expect in other parts of their lives.
The Bigger Picture
India’s pet-care opportunity is moving beyond food and veterinary services.
The emergence of premium daycare, boarding, training, wellness and specialised services points to a broader transformation in urban pet parenting.
Scooby’s Club is positioning itself at the intersection of this shift, with a simple proposition: bring professional, behaviour-focused dog care closer to the communities where pet parents live.
With $250,000 in fresh capital and plans to expand across Bengaluru before targeting 100 locations nationally, Scooby’s Club is betting that India’s next pet-care category will be built around everyday care — not just emergency needs.
