Gaming Streaming Startup Turnip Raises $1.63M Seed Funding

Turnip, a mobile-first gaming community network, has raised $12.5 million (Rs 92 crore) from Greenoaks Capital and Elevation Capital in a Series A round of funding.

Pooja Dubey and Aditya Sharma founded Turnip in April 2020 to allow creators to join clubs where they can stream or record their games for fans, communicate on audio/video, text one other, organise esports tournaments, and host masterclasses.

Commenting on the funding Pooja Dubey and Aditya Sharma, co-founders  said “Our goal is to build from India for the 2 billion plus gamers spread across the world. Gamers have been early adopters of technologies and this has created some of the most innovative and immersive consumer products globally — Discord, Streamlabs, Unity, Twitch, Axie Infinity, etc,”
