Lummo named Amit Chhajer as Director of Engineering

Amit Chhajer has been named Director of Engineering at Lummo (previously known as BukuKas). Renuka Thakur, an ex-Shopify executive, has joined the SaaS company’s leadership team in India, which is based in Jakarta and Bengaluru (Product).

Amit Chhajer joins the team with over 11 years of expertise. In his previous work at Dunzo, he was in charge of the consumer app and was responsible for the development of Dunzo Daily, a quick grocery commerce solution. He joins Lummo’s leadership team this month and will be in charge of Buyer Experience and Monetisation.

Amit is passionate about establishing and scaling B2C products and is skilled in complex computer architecture, designing and evaluating algorithms, operational research, and computer networking.

Amit brings with him a deep understanding of technology that will add to the knowledge bank we pride ourselves on, at Lummo. With his practical experience of having launched several successful initiatives in his career and managing some of the best teams, we believe he will be a key addition as we scale teams in India and globally” said Alexander Peter, Senior Vice President, Founders office who oversees People Strategy at Lummo.

When I met the team at Lummo, I was thrilled that we shared the same vision. I am looking forward to adding more power to their growth in the sector.

Lummo offers services in form of solutions to entrepreneurs and brands to help grow their businesses. They work with businesses to provide them with technological solutions and help them build consumer relationships amongst other services. Lummo has raised a Series C of $80 million in funding led by Tiger Global and Sequoia Capital earlier this year. Other investors such as CapitalG, the growth fund of Google’s parent company Alphabet, NuvemShop CEO Santiago Sosa and former Lazada CEO Max Bittner, also participated in this round.
