Agritech startup Nutrifresh raises $5M in Pre-Series A funding

Nutrifresh, an agritech business based in Pune that focuses on hydroponically farmed produce, has raised $5 million in a Pre-Series A fundraising round.

Nutrifresh’s mission is to supply consistent pesticide-free, nutrient-rich hydroponic produce. It was co-founded by agripreneurs Sanket Mehta and Ganesh Nikam. The company claims to be quality-focused, having earned ISO, FSSAI, APEDA, HACCP, and GLOBAL GAP certifications.

Founded by Sanket Mehta and Ganesh Nikam, Nutrifresh  provides hydroponic produce that is nutrient-rich. Its clientele includes over 100 business-to-business (B2B) aggregators in the Indian market such as Nature’s Basket, Big Basket, Swiggy, Kissan Konnect, McDonalds, Venky’s, Amazon Fresh and Reliance Fresh, among others.

Nutrifresh has a protected cultivation facility that promises to employ high-quality seeds from Israel and the United States. The air is filtered in these facilities, the water is RO-purified, and the nutrients are water-soluble. From seed procurement to germination, nursery, harvesting, packaging, and delivery of the product to the end-user, the entire process is under control.
