Dil Foods Secures $2M Pre-Series A Funding to Help Small Restaurants Thrive

Dil Foods, a Bengaluru-based virtual restaurant operator, has successfully raised $2Mn in a Pre-Series A funding round. The brand’s mission is to collaborate with small to medium independent food businesses and restaurants to create a profitable brand that disrupts the meal market using an innovative asset-light model for food delivery, driving efficiency and maximizing profitability.

The funding round was led by V3 Ventures and Mount Judi Ventures, with prominent investors Revant Bhate (former Rebel and founder of Mosaic Wellness) and Arjun Vaidya (Founder of Dr. Vaidyas) also participating. Their expertise will be instrumental in strengthening Dil Foods’ position in the virtual restaurant operators’ sector.

Dil Foods aims to diversify its brand portfolio and offer customers a wide range of authentic cuisines. The recently secured funding will support the company’s expansion into new cities and empower partner restaurants to thrive. Strategic investments will be made in data analytics and supply chain optimization to enhance operations and drive efficiency.

Arpita Aditi, CEO, and Founder of Dil Foods expressed her excitement about the funding round, stating, “This investment is a testament to the tremendous potential of Dil Foods and our commitment to strengthening the business of small independent restaurants and other F&B players, who often struggle to achieve sustainability and financial viability. Limited resources, financial constraints, and a shortage of specialized personnel hinder their ability to tap into the potential of new-age business models to enhance their revenues.”

Rahul Maheshwari, partner at V3 Ventures, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with Dil Foods, highlighting how the platform empowers small restaurants to tap into the online food delivery industry and maintain the exceptional taste and quality of their food using Dil Foods’ central kitchen.

Mohammed Ali Shariff, partner at Mount Judi Ventures, sees tremendous growth potential for Dil Foods with its disruptive asset-light model. He believes that Dil Foods is poised to become a category-defining player in the virtual cloud kitchen space, and he is excited to support Arpita’s vision of making the restaurant business viable and beneficial for all stakeholders.

Under the umbrella of Dil Foods, each type of cuisine is offered by a unique but complementary brand, catering to the varied palates of India by utilizing the underutilized infrastructure of small independent restaurants to provide an authentic culinary experience. With innovative product offerings, strategic partnerships, and a focus on customer satisfaction, Dil Foods anticipates robust growth in the coming months.
