Google is expanding its AI-powered education tools with new study features designed to help students prepare for competitive and standardised exams, including NEET, JEE, GRE, SAT, AP and MCAT. The company is also offering free AI subscriptions to eligible college students across more than 140 countries.
Google has introduced a new set of AI-powered study and exam preparation tools designed to give students a more personalised learning experience. The new features bring together Google Search, Gemini, YouTube and other education-focused tools to help students research topics, create study plans and work through complex subjects.
The announcement comes as artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into education, with students using AI tools for research, revision and personalised learning.
Google Search Adds AI-Powered Exam Preparation Tools
Google’s latest education features are designed to support students preparing for major competitive and standardised examinations.
The tools will support preparation for exams including:
- NEET
- JEE
- GRE
- SAT
- AP
- MCAT
Google says its new learning experience will allow students to access more personalised study support through Search and Gemini.
The features are intended to help students move beyond traditional search by providing structured learning resources and interactive study experiences.
Google Offers Free AI Subscriptions to College Students
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai also announced that Google will provide free AI subscriptions to eligible college students in more than 140 countries.
In the US, eligible college students can receive Google AI Pro free for one year. The plan includes access to Gemini features, higher usage limits and 5TB of storage.
Outside the US, eligible college students can access Google AI Plus for free, with higher usage limits and 400GB of storage, according to the announcement.
Google is also offering discounts on Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium for students in eligible markets.
New AI Tools Aim to Personalise Student Learning
Google is introducing several features designed to help students organise their preparation and learn at their own pace.
One of the new features is Student Hub, which is designed to bring study-related activities together in one place.
Students will also have access to:
- Personalised study plans
- Bite-sized learning content
- Study organisation tools
- Gemini Live for interactive discussions
- Deep Research reports
- AI-powered learning features within Google Search
These tools are designed to give students more flexibility in how they study and revise.
Gemini Live Brings Interactive Learning to Students
Google is also expanding the role of Gemini Live in education.
Students can use the feature to discuss topics and work through information from Deep Research reports while on the go. This could allow learners to engage with complex subjects through interactive conversations instead of relying solely on static study material.
The approach reflects Google’s broader push to make AI more useful for personalised education and knowledge discovery.
Google Expands AI Tools for Teachers
The company’s education push also extends to educators.
Google is introducing new capabilities within Google Classroom, including tools designed to help teachers monitor student progress and integrate AI-powered education features into their workflows.
The Classroom app in Gemini brings education and AI tools together for teachers, while progress-tracking features are designed to give educators greater visibility into student learning.
Google said its goal is to support personalised learning at home while ensuring that teachers remain at the centre of the classroom experience.
Google AI Education Tools to Roll Out Gradually
The new AI-powered study and education features will be introduced gradually across supported markets.
The rollout is expected to begin with eligible college students in the United States before expanding to other countries.
Students and teachers will need to check the relevant eligibility criteria and register through Google’s dedicated student platform to access the available offers.
AI Could Reshape Competitive Exam Preparation
Google’s latest move highlights the growing role of artificial intelligence in education.
For students preparing for highly competitive examinations such as JEE and NEET, personalised study plans, interactive AI assistance and faster access to educational resources could change how preparation is organised.
At the same time, the expansion of AI tools into classrooms and teacher workflows suggests that Google’s strategy extends beyond individual students. The company is positioning Gemini, Search and Classroom as part of a broader AI-powered education ecosystem.
As these tools roll out globally, the key question will be how effectively students and educators can use AI to supplement learning without replacing critical thinking, teaching and independent study.
