Salesforce and Anthropic Launch Claudeforce to Bring Agentic AI Into Enterprise CRM

San Francisco, California, August 26, 2026 – Salesforce and Anthropic are expanding their strategic partnership with Claudeforce, a new initiative designed to combine Anthropic’s Claude AI with Salesforce’s enterprise data, workflows, business logic and governance.

Announced on August 26, 2026, the partnership aims to move enterprise AI beyond answering questions and generating content toward reasoning, decision-making and taking governed actions inside business systems.

The companies are positioning Claudeforce as a new model for enterprise AI, where AI agents can work directly with the information and workflows companies already use.

Salesforce and Anthropic Combine AI With Enterprise Data

At the centre of Claudeforce is the integration of Claude with Salesforce’s enterprise platform.

Salesforce says its AIforce architecture allows business data and workflows to be made accessible to AI agents through MCP servers, APIs and CLI tools, reducing the need for complex point-to-point integrations.

The objective is to allow AI agents to reason over business information while operating within established enterprise rules and permissions.

This distinction is important for large companies. While generative AI can produce answers, enterprise environments also require systems that understand business processes, enforce permissions and maintain governance when actions are taken.

Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, described the partnership as a combination of Claude’s reasoning capabilities with Salesforce’s enterprise data, workflows and governance.

Anthropic CEO and Co-Founder Dario Amodei said the integration would allow businesses to use Claude with customer information and business context already maintained within Salesforce.

Salesforce in Claude Launches With 37 Sales Skills

The initial Claudeforce rollout includes Salesforce in Claude, a plugin featuring 37 prebuilt sales skills.

These capabilities are designed to support different stages of the sales process, including:

  • Meeting preparation
  • Deal health analysis
  • Pipeline reviews
  • Revenue analysis
  • Pipeline updates
  • Account research
  • Sales decision-making

The system is designed to work with live Salesforce information and allow sellers to interact with business data directly through Claude.

Salesforce and Anthropic say the skills have been built specifically around Claude’s reasoning, agentic tool use and generative user-interface capabilities rather than simply placing conventional CRM prompts around an API.

The onboarding experience can also use a seller’s enterprise context from Salesforce, Slack and other connected services to create a tailored dashboard containing accounts, pipeline information and other relevant data.

Enterprise Actions Remain Governed by Salesforce

One of the key elements of the partnership is the ability to combine AI reasoning with enterprise controls.

Salesforce says actions initiated through Salesforce in Claude are routed through Salesforce so that established business rules and permissions can remain in place.

Administrators can connect Salesforce in Claude and manage authentication and permissions centrally.

This approach is intended to address one of the biggest challenges facing enterprise AI adoption: giving AI systems enough access to be useful without allowing them to operate outside established organisational controls.

For businesses operating in regulated industries, that balance between autonomy and governance could become increasingly important as AI agents take on more operational tasks.

Claude Is Also Coming Deeper Into Salesforce

The partnership works in the opposite direction as well.

Claude is already available within Salesforce’s Agentforce ecosystem, where it can serve as a reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine and support Agentforce Vibes, Agentforce Coworker and Agent Builder.

Through Amazon Bedrock, Salesforce says Claude can also operate within the Salesforce Trust Boundary.

This could allow organisations, including businesses with strict regulatory and security requirements, to deploy domain-specific AI while maintaining control over their data and AI workloads.

The integration reflects a broader shift in enterprise software, where companies are increasingly looking to combine foundation models with existing systems of record rather than replacing those systems entirely.

Slack Becomes the Link Between People and AI Agents

Slack is another major component of the expanded partnership.

Salesforce describes Slack as the environment where employees and AI agents can collaborate within the flow of work.

Claude is the default model for Slack and is being used across several parts of the platform, including Slackbot, Claude Tag and Slack Code.

The idea is to connect conversations and decision-making inside Slack with governed actions in Salesforce.

For example, employees could potentially discuss a customer issue, reason through available information with Claude and then execute an authorised action in Salesforce without switching between multiple applications.

This model could reduce the distance between human collaboration and automated enterprise workflows.

Salesforce and Anthropic Are Strategic Customers of Each Other

The relationship goes beyond technology integration.

Salesforce and Anthropic are also strategic customers of one another, giving both companies an opportunity to use the architecture internally while developing products for customers.

Salesforce is using Anthropic’s Claude technology across several areas, while Anthropic uses Salesforce as its preferred CRM and Slack as its preferred multiplayer work platform.

Salesforce also says Claude is the model powering Slackbot for its customers and employees.

Internally, Slackbot has generated 8.1 million hours of annualised productivity gains for Salesforce employees, according to the company.

Salesforce also plans to make Claude Code and Claude Enterprise available to its developers and knowledge workers as preferred AI productivity tools.

Why Claudeforce Matters for Enterprise AI

The Claudeforce announcement highlights a fundamental change in how businesses are approaching artificial intelligence.

The first generation of enterprise AI focused heavily on chatbots, search and content generation.

The next phase is increasingly about AI agents that can:

Understand → Reason → Decide → Act

For that model to work inside large organisations, however, AI needs access to business context, data and workflows while remaining subject to permissions and governance.

That’s where Salesforce’s enterprise infrastructure becomes important to Anthropic’s model capabilities.

The combination could allow enterprises to use Claude not merely as an AI assistant but as an interface through which employees interact with business systems.

What Comes Next for Claudeforce

Salesforce in Claude is currently available to select pilot customers, with an open beta expected in September 2026.

Additional prebuilt skills are expected to begin rolling out later in 2026.

The next phase will determine whether businesses are willing to trust AI agents with increasingly important operational tasks.

The key questions will include how companies manage permissions, how accurately agents execute complex workflows, how much human oversight remains necessary and how effectively AI-generated actions can be audited.

The Bigger Enterprise AI Shift

The Salesforce-Anthropic partnership reflects a broader transition from AI that provides answers to AI that performs work.

Claude brings reasoning and agentic capabilities, while Salesforce contributes enterprise data, workflows, business rules and governance.

If the model scales successfully, enterprise software could increasingly become less about navigating menus and applications and more about describing an outcome and allowing AI agents to execute the underlying work.

For Salesforce and Anthropic, Claudeforce is an attempt to establish that model directly inside one of the world’s largest enterprise software ecosystems.

The real test now is whether enterprises are ready to let AI move from the screen where work is discussed to the systems where work actually gets done.
