HYDERABAD, October 30, 2026: Infosys has expanded its presence in Telangana with the inauguration of a new Software Development Block at its Pocharam Development Center in Hyderabad. The 1.1 million square-foot facility is expected to strengthen the company’s delivery infrastructure, support specialised technology services and reinforce the region’s position as a major destination for global IT operations.
The expansion reflects Infosys’ continued investment in Hyderabad’s technology ecosystem as enterprises increase their focus on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud adoption, cybersecurity and next-generation digital transformation.
Infosys Pocharam Campus Adds 10,000 Seats
Spread across 450 acres, the Pocharam Development Center currently comprises seven software development blocks with approximately 4.58 million sq. ft. of built-up area.
The newly inaugurated block will add 10,000 seats to the campus. Under a hybrid working model, the expanded facility is intended to support an additional workforce of more than 13,000 employees, according to the company.
The development increases Infosys’ capacity to accommodate technology professionals and support complex digital transformation projects for clients across international markets.
Focus on AI, Cloud and Digital Engineering
Infosys’ Pocharam campus serves clients in several major industries, including banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), retail, life sciences and manufacturing.
The latest expansion is designed to further strengthen the company’s capabilities in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, engineering and advanced digital services.
As businesses explore AI-enabled operations and modernise their technology infrastructure, facilities such as Pocharam can help technology service providers scale delivery teams and develop specialised skills. The new block will contribute additional infrastructure to support these requirements.
Infosys Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sanghrajka said Hyderabad has played an important role in the company’s growth and that the expanded campus would help it scale operations, develop specialised talent and deliver complex transformation programmes for global clients.
He added that the facility would bring together skilled professionals and advanced infrastructure to help clients pursue innovation, improve competitiveness and generate long-term business value.
Telangana Government Highlights Technology Investment
The inauguration was attended by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance, Planning and Energy Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Industries and Commerce, and Legislative Affairs Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
Infosys was represented by CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka, Executive Vice President Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar and Senior Vice President Niladri Prasad Mishra, alongside other senior company and government officials.
Vikramarka said Telangana’s technology ecosystem benefits from infrastructure, skilled talent and an established innovation environment. He described the Pocharam expansion as an important development that could create opportunities for young professionals and support technology-led economic growth.
The investment also reinforces Hyderabad’s appeal to multinational companies seeking established technology talent, business infrastructure and access to India’s expanding digital services sector.
Sustainability Features at the Expanded Facility
The new development incorporates several features intended to improve energy efficiency, resource management and workplace comfort.
These include energy-efficient radiant cooling, smart lighting, rainwater harvesting, wastewater reuse and spaces designed to maximise natural daylight. The building also features flexible work areas, collaborative spaces and employee wellness facilities.
The design aligns with Infosys’ broader sustainability commitments while accommodating a hybrid working environment. However, the facility’s actual environmental performance will depend on operational factors such as energy consumption, water reuse and ongoing building management.
What the Expansion Means for Hyderabad’s IT Sector
The new Pocharam block adds substantial office capacity to one of Infosys’ established development campuses. Its focus on AI, cloud, cybersecurity and engineering also reflects the technology capabilities that global clients increasingly seek from IT services providers.
For Hyderabad, continued investment by major technology companies can strengthen the city’s role in India’s digital economy and create opportunities for skilled professionals. The potential employment supported by this facility, however, should not be interpreted as a confirmed count of new hires.
The expansion further positions Infosys to scale its operations in Telangana as demand for advanced technology services evolves.
For Infosys, the Pocharam development represents a combination of expanded delivery capacity, investment in specialised technology capabilities and infrastructure designed for a modern workplace.
