Southeast Asia’s Top Payment Startups Raise Over $2.7 Billion as Investor Confidence in Fintech Remains Strong: Tracxn

Singapore: Southeast Asia’s payments ecosystem continues to attract strong investor confidence, with the region’s 12 most-funded active payment startups collectively raising more than $2.7 billion in equity funding, according to a new report by market intelligence platform Tracxn.

The report highlights the rapid evolution of Southeast Asia’s fintech landscape, where payment companies are building solutions across cross-border transactions, merchant commerce, embedded finance, treasury management, and digital asset-enabled payments.

Airwallex Dominates Funding Landscape

The report identifies Airwallex as the region’s most-funded payment startup, having raised $1.9 billion since its founding in 2015.

Its latest $320 million funding round, announced in June 2026, further strengthened its leadership position and accounted for nearly 70% of the combined capital raised by the companies featured in the report.

Together, the top two companies on the list account for approximately 83% of the total equity funding, highlighting the concentration of investor capital among a handful of high-growth fintech leaders.

Singapore Emerges as Southeast Asia’s Fintech Hub

Singapore continues to cement its position as Southeast Asia’s leading fintech destination.

According to the report, nine of the 12 companies featured are headquartered in Singapore, underscoring the city-state’s strong regulatory framework, mature financial ecosystem, and access to global investment capital.

The remaining startups are based in Indonesia and Vietnam, reflecting the broader growth of digital financial services across the region.

Funding Momentum Continues in 2026

Despite a more selective global venture capital environment, funding activity remains healthy for leading payment startups.

Four companies on the list successfully raised capital in 2026:

  • Airwallex$320 million
  • MetaComp$13 million
  • dtcpay$10 million
  • Qashier$6 million

The continued flow of investment suggests investors remain optimistic about companies building payment infrastructure and digital commerce solutions across Southeast Asia.

Early-Stage Innovation Driving the Ecosystem

One of the report’s key findings is the strong representation of early-stage companies.

Most startups featured are currently at the Seed to Series A stages, indicating that Southeast Asia’s payments ecosystem continues to generate a healthy pipeline of companies progressing beyond product development toward commercial scale.

While a limited number of mature companies have secured large late-stage funding rounds, the growing number of early-stage ventures reflects sustained venture capital interest in financial technology innovation.

Payments Innovation Expands Across Multiple Segments

The companies featured in the report operate across a wide range of fintech verticals, including:

  • Cross-border payment infrastructure
  • Enterprise payment platforms
  • Merchant commerce solutions
  • Embedded financial services
  • Treasury and liquidity management
  • Digital asset-enabled payment technologies

As businesses and consumers increasingly adopt digital financial services, payment infrastructure continues to be one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing fintech segments.

Why It Matters

Southeast Asia has become one of the world’s fastest-growing digital economies, creating significant demand for modern payment infrastructure. Tracxn’s latest report highlights how investors continue to back fintech startups building scalable payment solutions, with Singapore maintaining its leadership as the region’s innovation hub while emerging companies across Indonesia and Vietnam contribute to the ecosystem’s long-term growth.
