Emirates, a leading airline, has revealed intentions to offer NFTs and novel metaverse experiences for its customers and staff in the near future. This week, the airline announced intentions to create signature brand experiences in the metaverse, as well as collectible and utility-based NFTs. The initial initiatives are currently in the works, with a debut scheduled for the following months.
The airline said that its Emirates Pavilion at Expo 2020 will be converted as a centre for innovation, drawing talent from all around the world to bring the airline’s future-focused projects, such as Web3,metaverse, and NFT, to life.
“Dubai and the UAE are blazing the way in the digital economy, having a clear vision backed by practical policies and regulatory frameworks in areas including virtual assets, AI, and data protection,” said HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chief executive and Chairman at Emirates.
“Emirates has always embraced advanced tech to improve our business processes, enrich our employees’ experiences and skills and further enhance our customer offering, ” he further added.
“We are very excited about the opportunities in the digital space of the future and are now committing a major nvestment in financial and resourcing terms to develop services and products using advanced technologies that will deliver on-brand experience, business efficiencies, and on revenue,” says HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Emirates will continue to engage with industry partners on its Web3 strategy, and recruit talent for its pipeline projects, the company said.
