FIFTH SENSE Raises ₹6.3 Cr to Build India’s Next-Gen Fragrance Brand

FIFTH SENSE, a premium fragrance startup, has raised ₹6.3 crore (approximately $678K) in an early funding round, led by OTP Ventures.

The round also saw participation from Sadev Ventures, ISV Capital, along with notable angel investors including Rohit Kapoor and Amit Damani.

Funding to Accelerate Product Innovation and Brand Growth

The Gurugram-based startup plans to utilize the funds to:

  • Launch new fragrance products
  • Strengthen brand storytelling through content
  • Enhance supply chain and distribution capabilities

This move comes as India’s D2C beauty and fragrance market continues to grow rapidly, driven by young consumers seeking personalized experiences.

Reimagining Fragrance Through Identity and Storytelling

Unlike traditional perfume brands that focus on ingredients and notes, FIFTH SENSE is building a story-first fragrance experience, where scents are designed around identity and emotion.

“The beauty of fragrance, just like humans, is in its nuance. You cannot reduce it to a list of notes… At Fifth Sense, we are reimagining fragrance discovery through identity-led storytelling.”
— Bharat Gupta, CEO & Co-founder

The brand’s philosophy revolves around creating scents based on “who you want to be”, rather than simply what goes into the bottle.

Building a Relatable, Community-Driven Brand

Co-founder Prateek Gupta highlighted the company’s focus on making fragrances more accessible and relatable for modern consumers.

“We wanted to make fragrances relatable and uncomplicated… a space where consumers can embrace the messiness of life without the pressure of perfection.”

This positioning aligns with a broader shift in consumer behavior, where authenticity and emotional connection are becoming key drivers of brand loyalty.

Investor Confidence in India’s Fragrance Opportunity

Investors see strong potential in building a youth-focused, aspirational fragrance brand in India.

“There is a massive opportunity to create a youth-focused fragrance brand… each product feels like a main character with its own identity and story.”
— Kunal Suri, Founder & Managing Partner, OTP Ventures

The focus on storytelling, combined with product craftsmanship, has been a key factor in attracting investor interest.

Founded in 2026, FIFTH SENSE has launched four signature fragrances:

These products are:
